Influencia de la molienda en la energía superficial de fritas para esmaltes

open access: yesBoletín de la Sociedad Española de Cerámica y Vidrio, 2013
In this work has been studied the influence of the milling process of two ceramic frits used in the ceramic tile industry. Both glass frits were of similar chemical composition changing SiO2 by 5% of B2O3 and both of them were water or dry milled.

Circulating tumor cell viability during and after radiotherapy mirrors treatment response in cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Radiotherapy (RT) response depends on the DNA repair capacity of tumor and host cells. We show that circulating tumor cell (CTC) counts and apoptosis rates before and after RT predict treatment response and outcome, which can be accessed via easily accessible liquid biopsy approaches. Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Travelling-wave similarity solution for unsteady flow around a dry patch driven by gravity and constant surface shear stress

open access: yes, 2012
In this paper we use the lubrication approximation to analyse three-dimensional unsteady flow of a thin film of Newtonian fluid around a symmetric slender moving dry patch on an inclined planar substrate. The flow being driven by gravity and a prescribed

Too dry or not too dry [PDF]

open access: yesBritish Journal of Ophthalmology, 2003
Is that really the question or do eye symptoms lie? For those of us who see patients on a regular basis, how many times a day do we hear the recurring complaint, “Doctor, my eyes feel so dry…they itch, they burn, they feel constantly irritated”? As doctors we must ask, with a sense of wonder, do all of these patients really have dry eyes?

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Seasonal variation in soil and plant water potentials in a Bolivian tropical moist and dry forest

open access: yes, 2010
We determined seasonal variation in soil matric potentials (¿soil) along a topographical gradient and with soil depth in a Bolivian tropical dry (1160 mm y-1 rain) and moist forest (1580 mm y-1).
