Crescimento e nutrição mineral de Ipomoea nil Growth and mineral nutrition of Ipomoea nil roth

open access: yesPlanta Daninha, 2008

Predicting the allometry of leaf surface area and dry mass [PDF]

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Botany, 2009
The manner in which increases in leaf surface area S scale with respect to increases in leaf dry mass Mt within and across species has important implications to understanding the ability of plants to harvest sunlight, grow, and ultimately reproduce. Thus far, no mechanistic explanation has been advanced to explain why prior work shows that the scaling ...

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

The planar cell polarity protein Vangl2 interacts with the PDZ‐domains of Scribble but not with a unique PDZ‐like domain in Inturned

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Structural and biochemical characterisations show that the planar cell polarity (PCP) protein Inturned harbours a unique PDZ‐like domain that does not bind canonical PDZ‐binding motifs (PBMs) like that of another PCP protein Vangl2. In contrast, the apical‐basal polarity protein Scribble contains four PDZ domains that bind Vangl2, but one PDZ domain ...

Heat and mass transfer in spray drying

open access: yesAIChE Journal, 1960
AbstractStudies of the evaporation and drying rates in an experimental concurrent spray dryer, 8 in. in diameter and 14 ft. high, are reported for various operating air temperatures. It was found that the total evaporation and drying time could be accurately predicted by employing a step‐by‐step method of calculation.

Model for Heat and Mass Transfer in Freeze-Drying of Pellets [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biomechanical Engineering, 2009
Lyophilizing frozen pellets, and especially spray freeze-drying, have been receiving growing interest. To design efficient and safe freeze-drying cycles, local temperature and moisture content in the product bed have to be known, but both are difficult to measure in the industry.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Removal of Pb(II) and Cd(II) by Biomass Derived from Broadleaf Cattail and Water Hyacinth

open access: yesJournal of Water and Environment Technology, 2023
The potential of cattail (Typha latifolia) and water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) biomass to remove Pb and Cd ions from metal solutions was determined. The removal efficiency of Pb and Cd decreased with the increase in the
