REINFORCING THE MATERIALS OF DENTURE BASE BY CARBON FIBERS [PDF]
The present study aims to develop the denture base made of PMMA by enhancing the mechanical and tribological properties. The attrition of the denture base with food and teeth generates electrostatic charge (ESC) that hurts the health of human beings ...

Hidden dynamics in models of discontinuity and switching [PDF]
Sharp switches in behaviodr, like impacts, stick slip motion, or electrical relays, can be modelled by differential equations with discontinuities. A discontinuity approximates fine details of a switching process that lie beyond a bulk empirical model ...

TRIBOELECTRIFICATION OF SHOE SOLES AND FLOOR IN HOSPITALS [PDF]
Electric static charges generated from friction of engineering materials have a negative effect in their applications. The increased use of polymeric materials raised the importance of studying that effect.

INFLUENCE OF INDUCTION MAGNETIC FIELD ON FRICTION COEFFICIENT OF STEEL SLIDING AGAINST OIL LUBRICATED POLYMERS [PDF]
The aim of the study is to investigate the influence of induction magnetic field on friction coefficient displayed by steel sliding against oil lubricated polymers.Induction magnetic field was applied with different fluxes of 0.1, 0.2, 0.3 and 0.4 mG ...

On the effect of counterface materials on tribo-behavior of steel wire sliding under dry contact condition [PDF]
Steel wires are implemented in numerous systems and undergo frequent faults due to tribological loading conditions. Therefore, this paper presents a study on the tribological performance of steel wire sliding against different counterfaces, namely ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

FRICTION COEFFICIENT DISPLAYED BY FOOTWEAR WALKING AGAINST RUBBER FLOORING FITTED BY CYLINDRICAL TREADS [PDF]
There is an increasing demand to investigate proper solutions for reducing slip and fall accidents. The friction of footwear on floor coverings is responsible of the occurrence of slips and falls.

Dimethyl fumarate (DMF) reduces growth of HPV‐positive cervical cancer spheroids and induces ferroptosis in cervical cancer cells via blocking SLC7A11/Glutathione (GSH) axis. Combination of subcytotoxic doses of DMF and cisplatin (CDDP) further suppresses spheroid growth and drives cell death in 2D culture models.
