Stimulator of interferon genes agonist augmented antitumor immunity of osimertinib in Egfr‐mutated lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining osimertinib with the STING agonist ADU‐S100 activates innate and adaptive immunity to overcome the non‐inflamed microenvironment of Egfr‐mutant lung cancer. This combination increases NK and CD8+ T‐cell infiltration, associated with activation of the STING‐IRF3 pathway and local immunogenic cell death.

Water Vapor Emission From Rigid Mesoporous Materials during the Constant Drying Rate Period

open access: yes, 2012
It has long been thought that the evaporation rate from mesoporous materials during the constant drying rate period (CDRP) is equal to that of a free-water surface, due to the presence of a liquid film covering the surface of the material.

Drying of Filament in Dry Spinning

open access: yesChemical engineering, 1966

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

Numerical simulation of drying of Pinus pseudostrobus wood with Comsol Multiphysics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In this work, we present the second part of our investigation. In the first part, we have published a semi-empirical model for drying. In this second part, we present the numerical solution of a drying model for Pinus pseudostrobus (Mexican softwood ...

Drying Schedules for Canelo Wood

open access: yes, 2013
Canelo wood is a highly valued native species in Chile that shows delicate marbling patterns with a pinkish soft silver luster. Due to its decorative qualities, canelo wood is dried for the manufacture of furniture and musical instruments.

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Intensification of the freeze drying process by the control of both freezing and primary drying steps

open access: yes, 2013
The problem of optimization of freeze-drying cycles is addressed, with emphasis in both freezing and primary drying steps. In particular, this study shows that the control of the nucleation event produces more uniform batches (as ice nucleation is ...

Evaluation of the Free Volume Theory to Predict Moisture Transport and Quality Changes During Broccoli Drying

open access: yes, 2010
Moisture diffusion in porous broccoli florets and stalks is modeled using the free volume and Maxwell-Eucken theories. These theories are based on the mobility of water and concern the variation of the effective diffusion coefficient for a wide range of ...

Production of MgAl/layered double hydroxide microspheres and investigation of the volumetric heat transfer coefficient in spray drying

open access: yesHeliyon
Layered Double Hydroxides (LDH) are synthetic materials nanostructured in two dimensions that present positively charged layers with interspersed anions for charge and structure balancing. Being recognized as a promising material for various applications,
