Optimization of process condition for preparation of sapota bar using Refractance window drying method

Drying Technology, 2018
Refractance window (RW) drying is an emerging thin layer drying method in which drying of a food product takes place by heat transfer from hot water to a product through a plastic film. This study was conducted to prepare sapota bar using a batch type RW

Modern Methods of Drying Nanomaterials

Transport in Porous Media, 2006
This paper presents the types of nanomaterials whose technology requires drying during processing. The methods of drying of three groups of nanomaterials are discussed: nanoparticles, nanolayers (nanofilms), and nanoporous materials. Principally the method of spray drying using ultrasonic nebulizers and electrospraying is presented for the first group.

Combined Timber Drying Method

Journal of Engineering Physics and Thermophysics, 2013
This paper presents the results of investigations of the moisture and temperature distribution in drying by the conduction method, by means of a radio-frequency electromagnetic field, and by the combined method of heating at a low pressure. The rate of drying by the combined heating method is twice higher than in conduction heating and 1.5 times higher

Dry Production Methods

2013
Abstract Dry methods offer several advantages including low financial and environmental impacts. However, the relatively large particle size distribution combined with difficulty in surface functionalization reduces the scope of their applications. The majority of dry methods are based on mechanical and gas-phase processes. Other techniques including

Methods of Drying Buildings

2020
Water is the most dangerous factor for buildings. Each penetration into the building structures results in a number of problems, from technical and economic to health-related ones. Issues related to the drying of buildings are very complicated. This is mainly due to the way in which different construction and finishing materials react to water and ...

Less-Common Drying Methods

2000
The majority of lumber-drying kilns are worked at atmospheric pressure and are direct-fired or steam-heated, sometimes using wastewood as the primary fuel. However, other heating arrangements have been advocated, including the use of solar, microwave and radiofrequency energy, or of superheated steam, besides the possibility of working under vacuum to ...

Machinery and methods in freeze-drying

Cryobiology, 1971
Abstract The author assumes familiarity with literature on the freeze-drying of biologicals to which he provides a critical supplement. Freeze-drying should be conceived as part of a total system and in terms of the end product. This product is not an end in itself, and must satisfy clinical and commercial requirements which can be optimized, if at ...
