Evaluation of a simulation model in predicting the drying parameters for deep-bed paddy drying

open access: yes, 2009
A simulation model for deep-bed batch drying of paddy was developed to predict the profiles of grain moisture content, grain temperature, air temperature and air humidity during the drying process.

PAK1 activation drives divergent resistance mechanisms to aromatase inhibition and tamoxifen in a luminal: A breast cancer model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Breast cancer remains a major cause of cancer death in women, frequently developing endocrine therapy resistance. This study demonstrates that upregulated p21‐activated kinase 1 (PAK1) activity drives resistance to tamoxifen and long‐term estrogen deprivation in ER+ breast cancer models.

Mycobacterial cell division arrest and smooth‐to‐rough envelope transition using CRISPRi‐mediated genetic repression systems

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing and phenotypic exploration in nontuberculous mycobacteria. In this Research Protocol, we describe approaches to control, monitor, and quantitatively assess CRISPRI‐mediated gene silencing in M. smegmatis and M. abscessus model organisms.

Polarization‐resolved femtosecond Vis/IR spectroscopy tailored for resolving weak signals in biological samples using minimal sample volume

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Unique biological samples, such as site‐specific mutant proteins, are available only in limited quantities. Here, we present a polarization‐resolved transient infrared spectroscopy setup with referencing to improve signal‐to‐noise tailored towards tracing small signals. We provide an overview of characterizing the excitation conditions for polarization‐

Modeling Drying Isotherms Using A Structure Transition Model

open access: yes, 2015
Drying introduces structural changes in the target material that modify its interaction with water. In this work, we developed a model based on star fruit drying that considered two forms of interaction with water.

Design, manufacturing, and performance evaluation of box-type direct solar dryer for onions (Allium cepa L.)

open access: yesCogent Engineering
Smallholder farmers in Ethiopia face significant postharvest losses of perishable crops like onions. Solar drying offers a promising solution, yet adoption remains limited. This study explores eco-friendly solar drying methods to extend the shelf life of
