In vitro dry powder inhaler formulation performance considerations

Journal of Controlled Release, 2015
It has long been desired to match airflow conditions during formulation evaluation to those of relevance to lung deposition. In this context several strategies have been adopted involving sampling at different: flow rate (without consideration of flow conditions, e.g. shear, Reynolds number, work function); pressure drop (with and without consideration

Improved drying Performance using Exhaust heat

2008
In presented article is pointed out the possibility of energy saving in selected industrial drying process. After a detailed analyzes of the original drying process configuration the possibilities for a reduction of energy consumption is documented. Because about 30% of the total dryer heat load can be recovered the conventional process is compared ...

Prediction of Dry Scrubbing Process Performance

1993
A mathematical model is presented to simulate dry scrubbing processes for sorption of acid gases in filter cakes. The model can deal with both fixed and moving cake boundary problems. The data for major kinetic parameters available in the literature for reactions of Ca-compounds with HC1 are reviewed and analysed.

Experimental Performance of a Thermoelectric Heat-Pump Drying System for Drying Herbs

Journal of Electronic Materials, 2015
In this study we investigated thermoelectric (TE) heat-pump drying of laurel clock vine leaves, and the effect of drying-air temperature on the characteristics of the leaves. The TE drying system comprised four TE modules each with its own rectangular fin heat sink.

Dry Barrier Powder Performance Update

2019
Dry granular refractory powders commonly called dry barrier mixes (DBM) have been examined under field conditions. Cell autopsies were conducted on ten cells at five separate locations. The cells contained two different types of DBM. The autopsies showed that one of the DBM types performed well, with formation of the usual barrier and preservation of ...

TAILORING DRY POWDER INHALER PERFORMANCE BY MODIFYINGCARRIER SURFACE TOPOGRAPHY BY SPRAY DRYING

Atomization and Sprays, 2010
In order to provide adequate performance of dry powder inhalates with respect to dosing and fine particle fraction, interparticle adhesion between drug and carrier has to be well balanced. It has to be large enough to ensure attachment of the active ingredient during powder handling and dosing, but small enough to ensure detachment of the drug from the

Cassava Sun Drying Performance on Various Surfaces and Drying Bed Depths

Tanzania Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2014
Processing of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) to obtain flour is faced with a lot of technical constraints including inefficient drying. The traditional sun drying method is very inefficient as the product can take 2-3 days to dry. Mould growth and other problems such as contamination of the product are likely and therefore necessitate intervention.
