The performance of continuous mixers for dry powders
Powder Technology, 1975Abstract The performance of seven continuous mixers has been assessed using 20 : 1 mixtures of sand and sugar. The particle size of the sand and sugar was selected such that the powder pairs were cohesive/cohesive, cohesive/free-flowing, and free-flowing/free-flowing. The latter pair were highly segregating.

Update on dry cow therapy 2. measuring dry period performance
In Practice, 2017This article, the second in a two‐part series on dry cow therapy, discusses practical approaches to targeting and justifying antibiotic dry cow therapy, with tips, tricks and challenges for initiating targeted/selective dry cow therapy on farm. The first part, published in the July/August issue of In Practice (Biggs 2017) described the evolution of ...

Prediction of Dry Scrubbing Process Performance
1993A mathematical model is presented to simulate dry scrubbing processes for sorption of acid gases in filter cakes. The model can deal with both fixed and moving cake boundary problems. The data for major kinetic parameters available in the literature for reactions of Ca-compounds with HC1 are reviewed and analysed.

Improved drying Performance using Exhaust heat
2008In presented article is pointed out the possibility of energy saving in selected industrial drying process. After a detailed analyzes of the original drying process configuration the possibilities for a reduction of energy consumption is documented. Because about 30% of the total dryer heat load can be recovered the conventional process is compared ...

Cassava Sun Drying Performance on Various Surfaces and Drying Bed Depths
Tanzania Journal of Agricultural Sciences, 2014Processing of cassava (Manihot esculenta Crantz) to obtain flour is faced with a lot of technical constraints including inefficient drying. The traditional sun drying method is very inefficient as the product can take 2-3 days to dry. Mould growth and other problems such as contamination of the product are likely and therefore necessitate intervention.
