Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Researches on the Optimal Process of Heat Pump Intermittent Drying

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2014
Heat pump intermittent drying(HPID) is an energy-efficient process with high quality products. It is necessary to carry on a further research on its optimal process. A heat pump drying model was built for the cabbage seed with heat pump drying.

Performance Enhancement of a Solar Air Heater Equipped with a Tree-like Fractal Cylindrical Pin for Drying Applications: Tests Under Real Climatic Conditions

open access: yesEnergies
This paper reports the improved thermal and drying performance of a solar air heater powered by real solar irradiance and equipped with a tree-like fractal-based cylindrical pin (SAH-TFCP) as a turbulator for drying applications. The main purpose of this

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

Application of numerical analysis and machine learning techniques to improve drying performance and energy consumption of microwave-assisted convective dryer

open access: yesResults in Engineering
This study investigates the drying performance and energy consumption of okra slices using a hybrid microwave-assisted convective dryer. The effects of air temperature (40–60 °C), microwave power (100–400 W), and airflow (0.5–1.5 m/s) on drying time ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

The performance of an accelerated drying system for drying of skim natural rubber laces

open access: yesJournal of the Rubber Research Institute of Sri Lanka, 2011
A dryer consisting of a saw dust fed furnace and a drying chamber was designed and fabricated for drying of skim natural rubber laces using hot smoke. Uninterrupted drying of laces was carried out in warm smoke in three different temperature ranges. Drying performance was evaluated in terms of raw rubber properties and drying period to achieve complete

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Performance of the Michigan drying simulation model with a new drying rate concept

open access: yesActa Scientiarum. Agronomy, 2009
New formulation of the Michigan State University - MSU drying simulation model is proposed, based on Page’s thinlayer equation. It was derived, and the new drying rate formulation was used to define the humidity ratio of the air, and to complete the definition of the product temperature.
