Functional and physicochemical properties of proteins isolated from four different pulses
Proteins from four pulses viz. pinto bean, cow pea, pigeon pea, and navy bean were isolated and characterized. Pinto bean protein showed the highest oil absorption capacity and solubility. Pinto bean protein exhibited the highest emulsion capacity and foaming capacity. Cow pea protein showed the highest in vitro protein digestibility.

Abstract The present work aimed to evaluate the effect of different isolation methods (distilled water, sodium hydroxide, and potassium metabisulfite) on the properties of plantain starch and compared with flour. It was hypothesized that chemical steeping enhanced yield, techno‐functional properties, and resistant starch without disrupting native ...

Effects of yeast polysaccharides on the quality of wheat dough and toast
Abstract This study assessed how the soluble yeast polysaccharide (SYP) affected the physicochemical, pasting, and rheological properties of the wheat flour as well as the texture, the visual appearance, and the sensory evaluation of the toast.

Compact Cas12 Systems for Multiplex Engineering of Plant Abiotic‐Stress Networks
ABSTRACT Compact CRISPR‐Cas12 platforms, particularly miniature and hypercompact effectors such as Cas12f, Cas12j/CasPhi, and Cas12lambda, are emerging as delivery‐efficient tools for plant genome engineering because their reduced coding size facilitates viral‐replicon and other size‐constrained delivery routes while supporting dense guide multiplexing.

ABSTRACT Aim Cognitive deficits are commonly reported in patients with sickle cell disease (SCD). Dietary micronutrient intake is a potential modifiable risk factor whose relationship with cognition in SCD patients remains poorly characterised. This study aimed to determine the association between dietary micronutrient intake and cognition among these ...

Ultrasound‐Guided Peripheral Nerve Blocks for Percutaneous Treatments of Common Tendinopathies
Objectives Ultrasound‐guided percutaneous needle fenestration (UPNF) and percutaneous needle tenotomy (UPNT) are minimally invasive procedures commonly used to treat chronic tendinopathies. However, these techniques can be painful, potentially limiting patient tolerance, satisfaction, and procedural feasibility. Although local anesthetics (LAs) provide
