Enzymes of the 2‐hydroxyacyl‐CoA lyase group catalyze the condensation of formyl‐CoA with aldehydes or ketones. Thus, by structural adaptation of active sites, practically any pharmaceutically and industrially important 2‐hydroxyacid could be biotechnologically synthesized. Combining crystal structure analysis, active site mutations and kinetic assays,

An Efficient Method for Solving the Brusselator System
In this paper, a new efficient recurrence relation is constructed to solve a nonlinear Brusselator equation. The system, known as the reaction-diffusion Brusselator, arises in the modeling of certain diffusion processes.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

A finite element data assimilation method for the wave equation
We design a primal-dual stabilized finite element method for the numerical approximation of a data assimilation problem subject to the acoustic wave equation.

Dual Boundary Element Method for Instability Analysis of Cracked Plates
This paper presents the dual boundary integral equations for the buckling analysis of the shear deformable cracked plates. The domain integrals which appear in this formulation are transferred to boundary integrals using the dual reciprocity method.

This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Screening and epitope characterization of Nidogen‐2‐specific nanobodies
Camel immunization and phage display were employed to generate high‐affinity VHH nanobodies against Nidogen‐2. After library construction, biopanning, ELISA screening, sequencing, and recombinant expression, selected nanobodies were purified and characterized, leading to the preliminary exploration of a nanobody‐based sandwich ELISA for specific ...

On Duality, Symmetry and Symmetry lost in Solid Mechanics
International audienceThe paper recalls the concept of duality in Mathematics and extends it to Solid Mechanics. One important application of duality is to restore some symmetry between current fields and their adjoint ones.
