On the convergence of the dual reciprocity boundary element method

Engineering Analysis With Boundary Elements, 1994
Abstract This paper presents a study of the convergence properties of the dual reciprocity method (DRM). DRM is one of the most popular techniques used to transform volume integrals that arise, for example, from the inhomogeneous term of Poisson's equation, into equivalent boundary integrals in the boundary element method (BEM). The transformation is

Dual boundary element method for anisotropic dynamic fracture mechanics

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 2004
AbstractIn this work, the dual boundary element method formulation is developed for effective modelling of dynamic crack problems. The static fundamental solutions are used and the domain integral, which comes from the inertial term, is transformed into boundary integrals using the dual reciprocity technique.

Flow Simulation in Heterogeneous Reservoirs Using the Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method and the Green Element Method

open access: yesECMOR VI - 6th European Conference on the Mathematics of Oil Recovery, 1998
Green's functions are established tools for solving petroleum engineering flow problems. Their utility and rigor was extended to arbitrarily shaped reservoirs using the Boundary Element Method (BEM).

On the boundary element dual reciprocity method

Engineering Analysis with Boundary Elements, 1997
In this paper, the boundary element dual reciprocity method (BEDRM) is introduced for the solution of a class of boundary value problems. Convergence analysis of the BEDRM is carried out for Poisson's equation with Dirichlet boundary condition, using some important results on radial basis function approximation.

Solution of Boundary Value Problems Using Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method

Advances in Applied Mathematics and Mechanics, 2017
Summary: In this work we utilize the boundary integral equation and the Dual Reciprocity Boundary Element Method (DRBEM) for the solution of the steady state convection-diffusion-reaction equations with variable convective coefficients in two-dimension.

HYBRID APPROXIMATION FUNCTIONS IN THE DUAL RECIPROCITY BOUNDARY ELEMENT METHOD

Communications in Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1997
This paper addresses the important subject of improving the dual reciprocity boundary element approach without necessarily implementing internal nodes. To this end, the authors adopt the traditional basis functions augmented with appropriate global expansions, called hybrid approximate functions.

The dual boundary element method for thermoelastic crack problems

International Journal of Fracture, 1994
A boundary element formulation, which does not require domain discretization and allows a single region analysis, is presented for steady-state thermoelastic crack problems. The problems are solved by the dual boundary element method which uses displacement and temperature equations on one crack surface and traction and flux equations on the other ...

The dual reciprocity boundary element method for spontaneous ignition

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1990
AbstractThis paper studies the non‐linear heat conduction problem of spontaneous ignition of a reactive solid by using the dual reciprocity formulation of the boundary element method. First, critical values of the Frank‐Kamenetskii parameter δ are computed for some common geometrical shapes.

Dual boundary element methods for three-dimensional dynamic crack problems

The Journal of Strain Analysis for Engineering Design, 1999
In this paper, three formulations of a single-region dual boundary element method for dynamic crack problems are presented. The dynamic stress intensity factors are calculated by crack opening displacement. These methods are developed to study the dynamic behaviour of stationary cracks in threedimensional analysis.
