The dual boundary element method: Effective implementation for crack problems

International Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering, 1992
AbstractThe present paper is concerned with the effective numerical implementation of the two‐dimensional dual boundary element method, for linear elastic crack problems. The dual equations of the method are the displacement and the traction boundary integral equations.

Dual boundary element method for dynamic analysis of stiffened plates

Theoretical and Applied Fracture Mechanics, 2012
Abstract In this paper dual boundary element method for analysis of cracked stiffened panels under dynamic loading is presented for the first time. A continuously attached stiffener is considered. The time-dependent solutions are obtained by the Laplace transformed method.

Dual boundary element method for problems of the theory of thin inclusions

Journal of Mathematical Sciences, 2011
We have proposed to apply the dual boundary element method in problems of the theory of thin inclusions. The contact conditions on the boundary of a thin inclusion are considered as jumps of displacements and stresses in the body on the median surface of this defect.

Stiffened cracked plates analysis by dual boundary element method

International Journal of Fracture, 2000
In this paper a boundary element formulation for analysis of shear deformable stiffened cracked plates is presented. By coupling boundary element formulation of shear deformable plate and two dimensional plane stress elasticity, dual boundary integral equations are presented.

Dual Boundary Element Method for Modelling Curved Crack Paths

International Journal of Fracture, 2012
A new procedure for modelling curved crack paths based on the maximum principal stress criterion that uses the dual boundary element method (DBEM) is presented. It ensures that the crack path is smooth. It is shown that the analysis is not sensitive to crack extension size.
