Dual Connections and Holonomy

open access: yes, 2015
Dual affine connections on Riemannian manifolds have played a central role in the field of information geometry since their introduction by Amari. Here I would like to extend the notion of dual connections to general vector bundles with an inner product, in the same way as a unitary connection generalizes a metric affine connection, using Cartan ...

Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 increases metastatic potential and aggressiveness in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aldehyde dehydrogenase 1A1 (ALDH1A1) is a cancer stem cell marker in several malignancies. We established a novel epithelial cell line from rectal adenocarcinoma with unique overexpression of this enzyme. Genetic attenuation of ALDH1A1 led to increased invasive capacity and metastatic potential, the inhibition of proliferation activity, and ultimately ...

Transcatheter occlusion of partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection with dual drainage to left atrium

open access: yesAnnals of Pediatric Cardiology, 2019
Transcatheter therapy for partial anomalous pulmonary venous connection with dual drainage is unique and rarely reported. We report a 69-year-old female with recurrent brain abscess and partial anomalous connection of the left upper pulmonary vein with ...

RIPK4 function interferes with melanoma cell adhesion and metastasis

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
RIPK4 promotes melanoma growth and spread. RIPK4 levels increase as skin lesions progress to melanoma. CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated deletion of RIPK4 causes melanoma cells to form less compact spheroids, reduces their migratory and invasive abilities and limits tumour growth and dissemination in mouse models.

A Deformation Theory of Self-Dual Einstein Spaces [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
The self-dual Einstein equations on a compact Riemannian 4-manifold can be expressed as a quadratic condition on the curvature of an $SU(2)$ (spin) connection which is a covariant generalization of the self-dual Yang-Mills equations.

Noncommutative Geometry of Finite Groups

open access: yes, 1995
A finite set can be supplied with a group structure which can then be used to select (classes of) differential calculi on it via the notions of left-, right- and bicovariance. A corresponding framework has been developed by Woronowicz, more generally for

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

THE EFFECT OF ELECTROMAGNETIC COUPLING BETWEEN WIRES DOUBLE- CIRCUIT OVERHEAD LINE AND THE GROUND ON TRANSIENTS

open access: yesИзвестия высших учебных заведений: Проблемы энергетики, 2019
. A method is proposed for calculating the initial value of the periodic term of the short- circuit strength of a dual-circuit overhead transmission line using multiphase replacement circuits. The method takes into account the electromagnetic connections

Hippo pathway at the crossroads of stemness and therapeutic resistance in breast cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Dysregulation of the Hippo pathway drives nuclear accumulation of YAP/TAZ, activating stemness‐related transcriptional programs that sustain breast cancer stemness and fuel therapeutic resistance across subtypes, underscoring Hippo signaling as a targetable vulnerability. Figure created and edited with BioRender.com.
