Investigating underlying brain structures and influence of mild and subjective cognitive impairment on dual-task performance in people with Parkinson’s disease

open access: yesScientific Reports
Cognitive impairment can affect dual-task abilities in Parkinson’s disease (PD), but it remains unclear whether this is also driven by gray matter alterations across different cognitive classifications.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Loss of IGF‐1R impairs DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin leading to defective end‐joining

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
IGF‐1R promotes radioresistance by facilitating DNA‐PKcs recruitment to chromatin, enabling non‐homologous end‐joining (NHEJ) repair of double‐strand breaks. Inhibition or loss of IGF‐1R disrupts this recruitment to damage sites, driving compensatory reliance on microhomology‐mediated end‐joining (MMEJ) repair.

The present location of temporal embeddedness: the case of time linked consumption practices in dual career families [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
This paper examines the time linked consumption practices of professional dual career families, examining the kind of consumption practices these families use to manage their lives.

Converses of nabla Pachpatte-type dynamic inequalities on arbitrary time scales

open access: yesDemonstratio Mathematica
Reverse Pachpatte-type inequalities are concave generalizations of the well-known Bennett-Leindler-type inequalities. We establish reverse nabla Pachpatte-type dynamic inequalities taking account of concavity.

State of charge estimation method for lithium-ion battery pack using BP-MDM-TEM

open access: yesFrontiers in Energy Research
Addressing the fluctuating core temperatures during series battery pack operation that cause inconsistency in pack battery characteristics, the paper introduces a Battery-Pack Mean Difference-Method With Thermal-Electrical Coupled Model (BP-MDM-TEM ...

Thermodynamic modeling, energy equipartition, and nonconservation of entropy for discrete-time dynamical systems

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2005
We develop thermodynamic models for discrete-time large-scale dynamical systems. Specifically, using compartmental dynamical system theory, we develop energy flow models possessing energy conservation, energy equipartition, temperature equipartition, and

Flow Enabled Target Capture Halbach‐based magnetic enrichment increases circulating tumor cell capture from blood in metastatic cancer patients

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pair‐wise comparison of the CellSearch and FETCH enrichment technologies for circulating tumor cells (CTCs) from metastatic breast, prostate, and small cell lung cancer patients shows an increased capture of CTCs using FETCH enrichment. The clinical implementation of circulating tumor cells (CTCs) as a predictive tool for therapy efficacy in the ...

Investigation of the speed-up of a dual microcontroller parallel processing system in the execution of a mathematical operation [PDF]

open access: yes
An investigation of the performance of a two microcontroller parallel processing system is presented. A twomicrocontroller parallel processing is developed using low end microcontrollers (PIC 16F877).

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created
