Factors Associated With Alcohol Intake in Patients With Newly Diagnosed Breast Cancer

open access: yesCancer Medicine, Volume 15, Issue 6, June 2026.
Alcohol intake, a modifiable risk factor for breast cancer, is more common prior to a breast cancer diagnosis for patients who are younger, White, financially secure, exercising, and smoking. From Donor Liver to Recipient Pulmonary Artery: Embolization of a Transected Central Venous Catheter During Liver Transplantation, A Rare Complication of Organ Procurement

open access: yesClinical Case Reports, Volume 14, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Central venous catheters (CVCs) are essential in transplantation but can rarely fracture and embolize, with donor‐to‐recipient transmission of catheter fragments scarcely described. A 62‐year‐old woman with hepatitis C–related cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma underwent orthotopic liver transplantation from a brain‐dead donor with a left ...

Integrating antibody–drug conjugates into solid tumor oncology: Current standards and future directions

open access: yesCancer, Volume 132, Issue S1, 1 June 2026.
Abstract Antibody–drug conjugates (ADCs) represent a major advance in precision oncology, combining the selectivity of monoclonal antibodies with the cytotoxic potency of chemotherapy. By enabling targeted intracellular delivery of highly potent payloads, ADCs aim to maximize antitumor activity while minimizing systemic toxicity. This review summarizes

Ultrasound and Clinicopathological Features‐Based Machine Learning Model for Predicting Neoadjuvant Therapy Efficacy in Breast Cancer

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Accurate prediction of pathological complete response (pCR) after neoadjuvant therapy (NAT) remains challenging in breast cancer. Conventional imaging modalities, such as ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), have limited accuracy when used alone.

Assessing Practice Patterns of Antidepressant Medication and Tamoxifen Use Among Patients With Hormone Receptor‐Positive Breast Cancer

open access: yesCancer Reports, Volume 9, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Some commonly prescribed antidepressants inhibit CYP2D6, an enzyme that metabolizes tamoxifen into its active metabolite, endoxifen. This inhibition could theoretically decrease the efficacy of tamoxifen, which could hypothetically lead to higher breast cancer recurrence rates and mortality.
