Structural instability impairs function of the UDP‐xylose synthase 1 Ile181Asn variant associated with short‐stature genetic syndrome in humans

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

A limit set trichotomy for order-preserving systems on time scales

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2004
In this paper we derive a limit set trichotomy for abstract order-preserving 2-parameter semiflows in normal cones of strongly ordered Banach spaces. Additionally, to provide an example, Muller's theorem is generalized to dynamic equations on arbitrary ...

Study on the kinetics of tomato storage quality under water and fertilizer coupling

open access: yesTechnology in Horticulture
To improve the storage quality of tomatoes, an optimized water and fertilizer management scheme was developed by exploring the dynamic effects of water-fertilizer coupling on tomato quality during storage.

Oscillation criteria for second-order nonlinear delay dynamic equations of neutral type

open access: yesAdvances in Difference Equations, 2018
We investigate oscillatory behavior of solutions to a class of second-order nonlinear neutral delay dynamic equations with nonpositive neutral coefficients. In particular, we study the corresponding noncanonical neutral differential equations.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Exponential P-stability of stochastic $\nabla$-dynamic equations on disconnected sets

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2015
The aim of this article is to consider the existence of solutions, finiteness of moments, and exponential p-stability of stochastic $\nabla$-dynamic equations on an arbitrary closed subset of $\mathbb{R}$, via Lyapunov functions.

Clustering and Uncertainty in Perfect Chaos Systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The goal of this investigation was to derive strictly new properties of chaotic systems and their mutual relations. The generalized Fokker-Planck equation with a non stationary diffusion has been derived and used for chaos analysis.

Organ‐specific redox imbalances in spinal muscular atrophy mice are partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotides

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

open access: yesMedia Statistika, 2018
Single equation models ignore interdependencies or two-way relationships between response variables. The simultaneous equation model accommodates this two-way relationship form.

Computational coarse graining of a randomly forced 1-D Burgers equation

open access: yes, 2007
We explore a computational approach to coarse graining the evolution of the large-scale features of a randomly forced Burgers equation in one spatial dimension. The long term evolution of the solution energy spectrum appears self-similar in time.
