Hybrid simulations of lateral diffusion in fluctuating membranes

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper we introduce a novel method to simulate lateral diffusion of inclusions in a fluctuating membrane. The regarded systems are governed by two dynamic processes: the height fluctuations of the membrane and the diffusion of the inclusion along ...

Coagulation Equations for Aerosol Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Binary coagulation is an important process in aerosol dynamics by which two particles merge to form a larger one. The distribution of particle sizes over time may be described by the so-called Smoluchowski's coagulation equation. This integrodifferential equation exhibits complex non-local behaviour that strongly depends on the coagulation rate ...

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

NUMERICAL ANALYSIS OF OPEN CHANNEL STEADY GRADUALLY VARIED FLOW USING THE SIMPLIFIED SAINT-VENANT EQUATIONS

open access: yesTASK Quarterly, 2011
For one-dimensional open-channel flow modeling, the energy equation is usually used. There exist numerous approaches using the energy equation for open-channel flow computations, which resulted in the development of several very efficient methods for ...

A Force Method Model for Dynamic Analysis of Flat-Sag Cable Structures

open access: yesShock and Vibration, 2009
A new force method is proposed for analysing the dynamic behaviour of oscillating cables with small sags. The accepted dynamic model of such cables reduces to a partial differential equation (the equation of motion) and an integral equation (the ...

Sparse learning of stochastic dynamical equations [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2018
With the rapid increase of available data for complex systems, there is great interest in the extraction of physically relevant information from massive datasets. Recently, a framework called Sparse Identification of Nonlinear Dynamics (SINDy) has been introduced to identify the governing equations of dynamical systems from simulation data.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Dynamic spectrum access mechanism based on graphical evolutionary game in radio networks

open access: yesTongxin xuebao, 2015
In order to realize efficient data transmission for users in radio networks,a dynamic spectrum access mechanism based on graphical evolutionary game was proposed for the bounded rationality characteristic of users, while graphical game can better reflect ...

Wilson–Cowan Equations for Neocortical Dynamics [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Mathematical Neuroscience, 2016
In 1972-1973 Wilson and Cowan introduced a mathematical model of the population dynamics of synaptically coupled excitatory and inhibitory neurons in the neocortex. The model dealt only with the mean numbers of activated and quiescent excitatory and inhibitory neurons, and said nothing about fluctuations and correlations of such activity.

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.
