Low Inertia Impact Dynamics for Nanodrops
Langmuir, 2004Simulations of a droplet impacting a flat solid surface with a small initial speed have been studied using molecular dynamics. Approximating the shape of the drop by a spheroid, spreading radii, and dynamic contact angles are measured. The data reproduce well experimental results from literature.

Inkjet printing, rainfall, droplet collision in combustion chambers are different forms of drop impacts. The whole dynamics of these impacts is complex and remains far to be fully understood. In particular the role of the viscosity of the drop liquid is still hard to exhibit.

This paper introduces dynamic impact analysis as a cost-effective technique to enforce the error-propagation condition for detecting a fault. The intuition behind dynamic impact analysis is as follows. In a specific test-case, if an execution of a syntactic component has a strong impact on ...

The classic studies of the Barringer Crater, Arizona, Ries Crater, South Germany, and more recently Chicxulub impact structure, Yucatan, and other craters, coupled with laboratory high-velocity impact experiments, have established the dynamics of impact cratering, shock metamorphism and ballistic ejecta processes.

Dynamics of the Impact Oscillator
1999The impact oscillator is one of the simplest mechanical systems with the strong nonlinearity (Fig.l(a)), which is caused by a sudden change of stiffness during the contact of impacting bodies. When the time duration of the impact can be assumed negligibly short, then the Newton elementary theory of impact is used for the investigation of the system ...
