CONCRETE DELAYED FAILURE TIME

open access: yesInternational Journal for Computational Civil and Structural Engineering
At a single action on a concrete and reinforced concrete structure short-term dynamic load, the value of which may exceed the value of the static load-bearing capacity of the structure, it was observed that failure will occur not immediately, but after ...

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Dynamic Increase Factor of Vertically Irregular RC Frame Structure in Progressive Collapse

open access: yes工程科学与技术, 2015
:In order to research the dynamic response of vertically irregular RC frame structure in progressive collapse,a series of vertical irregular RC frames were built up as analysis models, and each model with the remove of bottom interior column was analyzed ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Role of steel fiber in the dynamic behavior of steam-cured UHPC

open access: yesDiscover Applied Sciences
Ultrahigh-performance concrete (UHPC) has great potential for use in extreme-load structures because of its ultrahigh compressive strength and excellent durability; however, its inherent brittleness restricts its seismic and blast resistances. This study

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

Tensile behaviour of geopolymer-based materials under medium and high strain rates

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2015
Geopolymers are a promising class of inorganic materials typically obtained from an alluminosilicate source and an alkaline solution, and characterized by an amorphous 3-D framework structure.

Investigation into Pure Rate Effect on Dynamic Increase Factor for Concrete Compressive Strength

open access: yesProcedia Engineering, 2017
Abstract Dynamic increase factor (DIF) has been used to consider rate effect on compressive strength of concrete in both design and analysis of concrete structures loaded with high rate. Until now, a variety of DIFs have been suggested by various researchers, and these DIFs are adopted in design guidelines and model codes, e.g., ACI 349-13, ACI 370R ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
