Investigation of Structural, Mechanical and Electrochemical Properties of Temperature‐Dependent Dual AlN/TiAlN Coating Synthesized by CVD Process

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This study investigates thermally CVD‐deposited AlN/TiAlN dual‐layer coatings over a Si substrate, focusing on the temperature‐dependent process‐structure relationship. Systematic characterization reveals that a dense AlN interlayer combined with an optimally deposited TiAlN top layer provides enhancement in mechanical strength, tribological stability,

Effect of repetitive upsetting-extrusion on deformation uniformity and mechanical properties of Mg–Gd–Y–Zr alloy

open access: yesMaterials Research Express, 2020
Mg-8.3Gd-3.2Y-0.4Zr alloy underwent severe plastic deformation at 420 °C using 4-pass isothermal repetitive upsetting-extrusion (RUE) process. The deformation uniformity in different regions of the same sample after 4 passes of RUE was studied.

Two‐Way Shape Memory Polymer Composite Gripper for Adaptive Robotic Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
A two‐way shape memory polymer (SMP) composite is developed with intrinsic shape‐changing capability driven solely by temperature, eliminating external actuation loads. Embedding the SMP in a low‐stiffness elastomeric matrix enabled reversible transformations during heating and cooling cycles.
