Viral Infection‐Inspired Autonomous Detection of Fusion‐Competent Viruses for Screening and Environmental Surveillance

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Inspired by viral entry mechanisms, the FUSION assay enables autonomous detection of respiratory viruses via membrane fusion–triggered CRISPR‐Cas13a activation. VEACON selectively fuses with fusion‐competent viruses, triggering fluorescence within confined vesicles.

Insight into the hot deformation behavior and recrystallization mechanism of Mg-Y-RE alloys based on machine learning

open access: yesJournal of Magnesium and Alloys
The hot deformation behavior of magnesium (Mg) alloys is significantly governed by the multi-physics coupling effects of temperature (T), strain rate (ε˙) and strain (ε), resulting in flow behavior that exhibits pronounced nonlinearity and multi-scale ...

Modelling microstructure evolution during equal channel angular pressing of magnesium alloys using cellular automata finite element method [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) is one of the most popular methods of obtaining ultrafine grained (UFG) metals. However, only relatively short billets can be processed by ECAP due to force limitation.

All‐Optical Reconfigurable Physical Unclonable Function for Sustainable Security

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An all‐optical reconfigurable physical unclonable function (PUF) is demonstrated using plasmonic coupling–induced sintering of optically trapped gold nanoparticles, where Brownian motion serves as a robust entropy source. The resulting optical PUF exhibits high encoding density, strong resistance to modeling attacks, and practical authentication ...

Numerical simulation of the dynamic recrystallization behaviour in hot precision forging helical gears

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2015
In hot precision forging helical gears, the dynamic recrystallization phenomena will occur, which affect the microstructure of the formed part and in turn decide their mechanical properties.

Wavelength‐Dependent 3D Printing: Introducing 3D Printed Action Plots

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Photochemical action plots – wavelength‐dependent reactivity studies of photoactive molecules – can show a significant mismatch between the peak of photochemical action and maximum absorbance in photopolymerization systems in solution. How this knowledge translates to photocuring in light‐driven 3D printing remains unexplored.
