Maneuvering dynamical systems by sliding-mode control

Proceedings of the 2004 American Control Conference, 2004
Solving a tracking task as a maneuvering problem for dynamical systems has shown to be a flexible design methodology, having many advantages over pure trajectory tracking and path following designs. We give a constructive design for solving the maneuvering problem by sliding-mode control.

Terminal Sliding Mode Control for Dynamic Voltage Restorer

Distributed Generation & Alternative Energy Journal, 2022
Day by day the increment in non-linear load has deteriorated the VoltageQuality of power supply system. The crucial concerns originated are VoltageSag and Voltage Harmonics. These power quality problems cause a lot oflosses in the power system which results in commercial losses as well.

Dynamical Sliding Mode Control of Mobile Manipulators

Materials Science Forum, 2009
A solution to the problem of the elimination of the chattering effect and the improving of the convergence speed for sliding mode control is presented in this paper.A new dynamical sliding mode controller is developed which takes the first derivative of the control signal instead of the actual control as control and results in smoothed control inputs ...

Adaptive Dynamic Terminal Sliding Mode Control Method

2009 Second International Conference on Intelligent Computation Technology and Automation, 2009
An adaptive dynamic Terminal sliding mode control method is presented for nonlinear systems with parameter uncertainty and external disturbance. The method estimates the boundary of parameter uncertainty and external disturbance by adaptive law. Terminal sliding mode control strategy is employed to make tracking error converge to zero in finite time. A

Adaptive dynamical sliding mode control via backstepping

Proceedings of 32nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002
An advantageous combination of chattering-free dynamical sliding mode control and the adaptive backstepping technique is proposed for the regulation of exactly linearizable systems, placeable in parametric-pure feedback form and in parametric-strict feedback form. >

Sliding Mode Control of Crowd Dynamics

IEEE Transactions on Control Systems Technology, 2013
In this paper, the design of nonlinear sliding mode controllers for models representing crowd dynamics in one dimension is presented. The main contribution of this paper is the stability analysis and robust control synthesis of hyperbolic partial differential equation (PDE) system models using the sliding mode method.

Dynamic Sliding-Mode Control for Piecewise Affine Systems

2020 Chinese Automation Congress (CAC), 2020
This paper investigates the problem of dynamic sliding-mode control through piecewise affine systems (PWAs). An uncertain piecewise affine system is utilized to equivalently represent a general nonlinear system on a compact region around the origin. A piecewise dynamic sliding-mode control law is then constructed for robustly stabilizing the uncertain ...

Sliding mode control in dynamic systems

Proceedings of 32nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2002
This paper deals with the generalization of the concept of "sliding mode control" for arbitrary dynamic systems governed by a shift operator. This class embraces continuous- and discrete-time, finite- and infinite-dimensional systems, and systems described by difference-differential equations.

First order dynamic sliding mode control

Proceedings of the 37th IEEE Conference on Decision and Control (Cat. No.98CH36171), 2002
This paper shows the development of a first order dynamic form of a sliding mode control. The structure of the sliding mode arises naturally from the inclusion of a control term in the sliding function definition. The development is taken through to the design of an optimal sliding surface using relatively standard techniques.

Vehicle dynamics control based on sliding mode control technology

2009 Chinese Control and Decision Conference, 2009
The paper presents a vehicle dynamics control strategy devoted to prevent vehicles from spinning and drifting out. With vehicle dynamics control system, counter braking are applied at individual wheels as needed to generate an additional yaw moment until steering control and vehicle stability were regained.
