Actin: Static and Dynamic Studies

2023
The actin cytoskeleton is a highly dynamic network in plant cells, which is precisely regulated by numerous actin-binding proteins. Hence, characterizing the biochemical activities of actin-binding proteins is of great importance. Here we describe methods for determining the binding and bundling of microfilaments as well as methods for visualizing ...

Wound-Dynamic Studies in Australia

The Journal of Trauma: Injury, Infection, and Critical Care, 1988
As part of the Australian programme of studies in wound ballistics, a facility has been developed at the Materials Research Laboratories, Melbourne, Victoria, in which the phenomena associated with the penetration of bullets through tissue simulants can be investigated.

Studying Dynamics in Argumentation with Rob

2018
The issue of handling dynamics is a central problem in Argumentation Theory. In order to understand how dynamics work, we extended the ConArg suite with Rob, a tool that is able to display Abstract Argumentation Frameworks and their corresponding sets of extensions, in a way suitable to understand what happens to the semantics when a modification to ...

Experimental study of dripping dynamics

Physical Review E, 2002
The dependence of dripping dynamics from physical properties of the nozzles is investigated. The analysis is performed by means of two complementary methods: (i) long dripping time series recorded with a standard laser-beam apparatus; and (ii) drop formations observed with a fast digital camcorder.

The Study for Dynamic Model of Gait

2011 14th IEEE International Conference on Computational Science and Engineering, 2011
Compared with the motion of hip's vertical oscillation, the hip model is derived in horizon motion. Based on it, the leg(thigh and shank) can be modeled as two pendulums joined in series and the rotation motion models are presented respectively. Then the mathematical models for simple two-dimension planar kneed walker are obtained.

Dynamical structure of protein studied

Chemical & Engineering News, 1990
A team of theoretical chemists has developed a supercomputer-based method for probing the internal motion of proteins. The method, which is used to figure out how distant and seemingly unrelated parts of large proteins exert an influence on each other, has already led to a better understanding of HIV-1 protease, an essential enzyme in the replication ...

A Study of the Consistency in Keystroke Dynamics

2013
Keystroke dynamics is the process of identifying individual users on the basis of their distinctive typing rhythms. Most current approaches implicitly assume that individual typing behavior has high consistency as well as high discriminatory ability, both of which underpin the power of the technique.
