Dynamics of Slider-Crank Mechanisms with Flexible Supports and Non-Ideal Forcing

Nonlinear Dynamics, 2004
Transient and steady state dynamic response of a class of slider-crank mechanisms is investigated. Specifically, the class of mechanisms examined involves rigid members but compliant supporting bearings. Moreover, the mechanisms are subjected to non-ideal forcing.

Research of Kinematic and Dynamic Errors of Crank-Piston Mechanisms

2016
The issue of determination of errors and precision of mechanisms and machines always presents an important problem. This problem is rather urgent in machine building, agriculture machinery, food industry, instrument engineelink and other fields of industry.

Synthesis of a slider-crank mechanism with consideration of dynamic effects

Journal of Mechanisms, 1970
Abstract A method of dynamic synthesis of a slider-crank mechanism to meet specified velocity conditions at three design points including the inertia effects of the masses of the main links is presented. Velocity specifications are developed assuming a constant velocity of the input crank.

Dynamic Stability of the Flexible Connecting Rod of a Slider Crank Mechanism

Journal of Mechanisms, Transmissions, and Automation in Design, 1986
The partial differential equation of motion of the flexible connecting rod of a slider crank is derived, under the assumption of small deflections. Application of the Galerkin procedure, leads to a system of linear ordinary differential equations, with respect to the modal coordinates of vibration of the rod.

Refined Dynamic Calculation of a Diesel-Engine Crank Mechanism

Russian Engineering Research, 2018
A mathematical model is proposed for the connecting rod of a diesel engine as a deformable component of a crank mechanism. VisSim 6.0 software is used for dynamic simulation of the connecting rod. Vibration is observed when the force exerted by the gas pressure is a maximum.

Effect of Internal Material Damping on the Dynamics of a Slider-Crank Mechanism

Journal of Mechanisms, Transmissions, and Automation in Design, 1983
A study of the effect of internal material damping on the dynamic response behavior of a slider-crank mechanism is presented in this paper. In developing the governing equations of motion, an assumption of a linear viscoelastic model for the connecting rod is made.

Dynamic Modeling of a Slider-Crank Mechanism Under Joint Wear

Volume 2: 32nd Mechanisms and Robotics Conference, Parts A and B, 2008
A study of how joint wear affects the kinematics of a simple slider-crank mechanism and in turn how change in kinematics of the mechanism affects the joint wear is presented. The coupling between joint wear and system kinematics is modeled by integrating a wear prediction process, built upon a widely used finite-element-based iterative scheme, with the
