Monitoring Mitochondrial Function in Aedes albopictus C6/36 Cell Line during Dengue Virus Infection
Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus mosquitoes are responsible for dengue virus (DENV) transmission in tropical and subtropical areas worldwide, where an estimated 3 billion people live at risk of DENV exposure.

P2X receptor trafficking in neurons is subunit specific [PDF]
P2X receptors within the CNS mediate excitatory synaptic transmission and also act presynaptically to modulate neurotransmitter release. We have studied the targeting and trafficking of P2X4 and P2X2 receptors heterologously expressed in cultured ...

A dynamin‐related protein contributes to Trichomonas vaginalis hydrogenosomal fission
Trichomonas vaginalis is a highly divergent, unicellular eukaryote of the phylum Metamonada, class Parabasalia, and the source of a common sexually transmitted infection. This parasite lacks mitochondria, but harbors an evolutionarily related organelle, the hydrogenosome.

Dynamin binding protein is required forXenopus laeviskidney development [PDF]
ABSTRACTThe adult human kidney contains over one million nephrons, with each nephron consisting of a tube containing segments that have specialized functions in nutrient and water absorption and waste excretion. The embryonic kidney ofXenopus laevisconsists of a single functional nephron composed of regions that are analogous to those found in the ...

Background: The cardioprotective effect of propofol on ischemia-reperfusion injury (I/R injury) is partly due to suppressing apoptosis. Mitochondrial dynamics are also involved in apoptosis.

A functional study of AUXILIN-LIKE1 and 2, two putative clathrin uncoating factors in Arabidopsis [PDF]
Clathrin-mediated endocytosis (CME) is a cellular trafficking process in which cargoes and lipids are internalized from the plasma membrane into vesicles coated with clathrin and adaptor proteins. CME is essential for many developmental and physiological

Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Structural analysis of a trimeric assembly of the mitochondrial dynamin-like GTPase Mgm1. [PDF]
The fusion of inner mitochondrial membranes requires dynamin-like GTPases, Mgm1 in yeast and OPA1 in mammals, but how they mediate membrane fusion is poorly understood.

Signal transducer and activator of transcription 2 deficiency is a novel disorder of mitochondrial fission [PDF]
Defects of mitochondrial dynamics are emerging causes of neurological disease. In two children presenting with severe neurological deterioration following viral infection we identified a novel homozygous STAT2 mutation, c.1836C4A (p.Cys612Ter), using ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.
