Psychological Factors Predict Response to a Low Fermentable Oligo‐, di‐, Monosaccharide and Polyol Dietary Intervention in Irritable Bowel Syndrome: A Prospective Cohort Study

open access: yesUnited European Gastroenterology Journal, Volume 14, Issue 3, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background The low fermentable oligo‐, di‐, monosaccharide and polyol (FODMAP) diet (LFD) effectively manages irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), but predictors of treatment response remain unknown. A phase 1 study of berzosertib (M6620, VX‐970) in combination with cisplatin and radiation in patients with locally advanced head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (ETCTN 9950)

open access: yesCancer, Volume 132, Issue 6, 15 March 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia telangiectasia Rad3‐related (ATR) protein kinase regulates DNA damage response and is essential for tumor cell survival. Preclinically, ATR inhibition can sensitize tumor cells to radiation and chemotherapy. The authors conducted a phase 1 trial of berzosertib, a selective ATR inhibitor, in combination with definitive ...

Gut Microbiota‐Non‐Coding RNA Axis in Immune Modulation and Disease: From Mechanisms to Clinical Translation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
ABSTRACT Immune homeostasis is indispensable for preserving organismal integrity, orchestrated through complex molecular networks encompassing immune cell dynamics, microbial cues, and epigenetic regulation. Among these, the gut microbiota‐non‐coding RNA (ncRNA) axis has recently garnered substantial attention as a multifaceted modulator of host ...

Impact of Circular Stapler Size on Short‐Term Outcomes and Long‐Term Quality of Life After McKeown Esophagectomy

open access: yesAnnals of Gastroenterological Surgery, Volume 10, Issue 2, Page 424-430, March 2026.
In this study, we investigated the impact of circular stapler size on both short‐term outcomes and long‐term QOL after McKeown esophagectomy. We revealed that short‐term outcomes, including anastomotic leakage and stenosis, did not differ between patients who underwent anastomosis with a 21 mm stapler and those with a 23 mm stapler.
