Calibration Transfer for Food Recognition Models for E-Noses [PDF]
Gas sensors using the low-priced MOS technique face several problems that reduce their applicability for classification tasks. In literature, several methods can be found that try to alleviate these problems. In this extended abstract, we focus on the problem that the behavior of different sensors (of same type) results in different data even for the ...

Evolutionary analysis across 32 placental mammals identified positive selection at residues H148 and W149 in the immune receptor FcγR1. Ancestral reconstruction combined with molecular dynamics simulations reveals how these mutations may influence receptor structure and dynamics, providing insight into the evolution of antibody recognition and immune ...

Discrimination and Prediction of Pork Freshness by E-nose [PDF]
An electronic nose (e-nose) was used to establish a freshness evaluation model for pork. A pre-experiment was performed to acquire optimum parameters (10 g sample mass with 5 min headspace-generation time in 500 mL vial) for later e-nose detection of pork. Responding signals of the e-nose were extracted and analyzed.

Remote Assessment of Ataxia Severity in SCA3 Across Multiple Centers and Time Points
ABSTRACT Objective Spinocerebellar ataxia type 3 (SCA3) is a genetically defined ataxia. The Scale for Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) is a clinician‐reported outcome that measures ataxia severity at a single time point. In its standard application, SARA fails to capture short‐term fluctuations, limiting its sensitivity in trials.

Comparison of e-Noses: the case study of honey
In the present work we compare a traditional, MOS-based e-Nose consisting of an array of ten metal oxide array sensors, with an MS-based instrument based on Proton-Transfer-Reaction Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometry (PTR-ToF-MS). The sample set consisted of 14 honey samples from South Tyrol, an Italian alpine region, which were compared with other 12 ...

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...
