Multiplex PCR for the simultaneous detection of the Enterobacterial gene wecA, the Shiga Toxin genes (stx 1 and stx 2) and the Intimin gene (eae)

open access: yesBMC Research Notes, 2018
Objectives The aetiology of several human diarrhoeas has been increasingly associated with the presence of virulence factors rather than with the bacterial species hosting the virulence genes, exemplified by the sporadic emergence of new bacterial hosts.

m6A‐Mediated Glycolysis by IL‐37 Drives T Cell Metabolic Reprogramming to Regulate Colitis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study identifies an IL‐37/SIGIRR‐METTL14 regulatory axis that suppresses global m6A modification in CD4+ T cells. IL‐37 signaling, mediated through SIGIRR, inhibits IRAK4 and JNK phosphorylation, leading to downregulation of the methyltransferase METTL14.

PARing down EAE [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Experimental Medicine, 2006
An excess of proteinase receptors in the brain aggravates demyelination in multiple sclerosis (MS), suggest Noorbakhsh and colleagues on page 425. Mice lacking proteinase-activated receptor-2 (PAR2), they show, are protected from the brain damage characteristic of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a model of MS.

Sustainable Palm Oil Extraction and Trends in the Use of Green Technologies: State‐of‐the‐Art and Future Directions

open access: yesJournal of the American Oil Chemists' Society, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Palm oil, which is extracted from the mesocarp of the fruit of the Elaeis guineensis Jacq. palm tree, is the most widely produced vegetable oil in the world. The extraction of this substance typically utilizes the conventional pressing method, a technique that is advantageous due to its low operating cost and simplified process.

Innovating for Net‐Zero: Collaborative and Digital Decarbonisation Strategies in Sunset Industries' Global Value Chains

open access: yesBusiness Strategy and the Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Global net‐zero ambitions require transformative strategies to decarbonise carbon‐intensive global value chains (GVCs). This study examines how multinational enterprises (MNEs) in sunset industries integrate carbon capture technologies (CCT) with operational and supply chain dynamics (OSCD) to advance decarbonisation.
