Separating Hydrogen Evolution From Electroplating in Zn Metal Batteries Using Scanning Electrochemical Microscopy

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Operando SECM decouples hydrogen evolution from other degradation pathways in Zn metal batteries by quantifying its contribution during Zn electrodeposition. Although HER is shown to account for only a minor fraction of the irreversible charge loss, it remains a key indicator of interfacial evolution and by‐product formation governing cycling ...

The EAG Voltage-Dependent K+ Channel Subfamily: Similarities and Differences in Structural Organization and Gating

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2020
EAG (ether-à-go-go or KCNH) are a subfamily of the voltage-gated potassium (Kv) channels. Like for all potassium channels, opening of EAG channels drives the membrane potential toward its equilibrium value for potassium, thus setting the resting ...

MXene‐Derived Highly Oriented TiN Enables Ta3N5 Photoanodes for Transmission‐Mode Bias‐Free Solar Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
This work reports 2D MXene‐derived TiN thin films with (111)‐preferred orientation for transparent Ta3N5 photoanodes, demonstrating effective electron transfer behavior. All‐nitride electron‐collection architecture based on MXene‐derived TiN and n‐GaN resolves a long‐standing materials bottleneck between photocarrier transport and light transmission in

Molecular mechanism of voltage-dependent potentiation of KCNH potassium channels

open access: yeseLife, 2017
EAG-like (ELK) voltage-gated potassium channels are abundantly expressed in the brain. These channels exhibit a behavior called voltage-dependent potentiation (VDP), which appears to be a specialization to dampen the hyperexitability of neurons.

Descriptor‐Guided Computational Screening of Non‐Fullerene Acceptor Cores for Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
We screen over 4000 non‐fullerene acceptors using their ionization energy, electron affinity, quadrupole, and dipole moments to select the top‐ten candidates for a given donor polymer. The workflow recovers known high‐performance motifs and reveals how molecular components influence material properties.

Electroantennogram response of the parasitoid, Microplitis croceipes to host-related odors: The discrepancy between relative abundance and level of antennal responses to volatile compound [version 2; referees: 3 approved, 1 approved with reservations]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2017
Herbivores emit volatile organic compounds (VOCs) after feeding on plants. Parasitoids exploit these VOCs as odor cues to locate their hosts. In nature, host-related odors are emitted as blends of various compounds occurring in different proportions, and

Awareness of the Black Triangle Scheme among healthcare professionals and consumers in Australia: A mixed‐methods study exploring reporting intentions and suggested improvements

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Aims The Black Triangle Scheme, introduced in 2018 in Australia, does not appear to have increased the quantity of adverse drug event (ADE) reports. This study evaluated healthcare professionals' (HCPs') and consumers' awareness of the scheme, its influence on intentions for future ADE reporting, and suggested improvements.
