Symbiont‐Induced HSP83 Establishes Two‐Tiered Control of Antifungal Immunity in an Invasive Beetle–Fungus Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In an invasive beetle–fungus complex, the mutualist Leptographium procerum induces host HSP83 and modulates Toll‐dependent antifungal immunity. HSP83 mediates two‐tiered control by associating with selected fungal recognition receptors and restraining Dorsal‐driven antimicrobial peptide transcription.

Inhibition of spinach bolting by growth regulators

open access: yes, 2015
Spinach (Spinacia oleracea L.) plants must be harvested during a short period of time because they bolt just after producing some edible leaves. Maleic hydrazide (MH) and its commercial preparation "Antyrost" were found to inhibit bolting very strongly ...

Chinese cabbage orphan gene BR3 confers bolting resistance to Arabidopsis through the gibberellin pathway

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science
Premature bolting reduces the yield and quality of Chinese cabbage, making bolting resistance gene identification crucial for breeding superior and stable varieties.

Early Bolt Loosening Detection Method Based on Digital Image Correlation

open access: yesSensors
Bolt loosening can significantly impact the accuracy, stability, and safety of equipment. The detection of bolt loosening in a timely manner is crucial for ensuring the safety, reliability, performance, and service life of equipment, structures, and systems. Various methods exist for detecting bolt loosening, such as strain gauges and ultrasonic waves.

Simplified Analysis of the Early Stage Self-loosening of a Shear-Loaded Bolted Joint [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
The self-loosening of a joint through unscrewing of the bolt is a phenomenon mainly occurring when the assembly is solicited by transverse repeated loads. Previous works highlighted that the transversal sliding of the bearing surfaces, either in the threads or underneath the bearing surfaces of bolts and/or nuts, is its root cause and that this ...

Decoupling Chemical and Mechanical Contributions to Capacity Fading in Ni‐Rich Cathodes for Sulfide‐Based All‐Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, EarlyView.
Ni‐rich cathodes in sulfide‐based ASSBs undergo intertwined (electro)chemical and mechanical degradation. Here, a new diagnostic framework is presented to decouple each contribution by partitioning capacity fading into charge and discharge fading.
