From energy provision to protein synthesis: Tunnelling nanotubes as mediators of intercellular metabolic cooperation in cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The cytoskeleton‐mediated transport of mitochondria via tunnelling nanotubes restores respiration, increases ATP production, rescues cells from apoptosis, activates the AKT/mTOR signalling pathway, promotes cell migration and invasiveness, contributes to cancer progression and treatment resistance.

Artificial Intelligence and Mental Well‐Being in Adult Education: Implications for Practice and Professional Responsibility

open access: yesNew Directions for Adult and Continuing Education, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mental well‐being is central to adult learner success, yet many adult education institutions lack capacity to provide timely and accessible support. This article examines how artificial intelligence (AI) can strengthen mental health–adjacent supports in adult and continuing higher education, with attention to professional practice and ...

AN EARLY WARNING SYSTEM FOR FLOUNDER DISEASE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
With the constant expansion of the scale and mismanagement in aquaculture, the diseases of flounder occur more and more frequently than before, which has brought great economic losses to fish farmers. For the sake of the problem described above, based on a great number of surveys, the early warning theory of flounder disease, the analysis of the ...

Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) in a Patient With Compound Heterozygous OPA1 Variants: Case Report and Literature Review

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Super‐Refractory Status Epilepticus (SRSE) is a rare, life‐threatening neurological emergency with unclear etiology in many cases. Mitochondrial dysfunction, often due to disease‐causing genetic variants, is increasingly recognized as a cause, with each gene producing distinct pathophysiological mechanisms.

Robust Lessons about Practical Early Warning Systems [PDF]

open access: yes
Early warning systems (EWSs) are subject to restrictions that apply to exchange rates in general: fundamentals matter but their influence is small and unstable.

Towards a new early warning system of financial crises [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper develops a new Early Warning System (EWS) model for predicting financial crises, based on a multinomial logit model. It is shown that EWS approaches based on binomial discrete-dependent-variable models can be subject to what we call a post ...

SNEWS: The supernova early warning system [PDF]

open access: yesAIP Conference Proceedings, 2000
World-wide, several detectors currently running or nearing completion are sensitive to a prompt core collapse supernova neutrino signal in the Galaxy. The SNEWS system will be able to provide a robust early warning of a supernova's occurrence to the astronomical community using a coincidence of neutrino signals around the world. This talk describes the
