Enzymatic synthesis of vitamin B6 precursor [PDF]
3-Cyano-4-ethoxymethyl-6-methyl-2-pyridone is an important precursor in the synthesis of vitamin B6, obtained in the addition reaction between 2-cyanoacetamide and 1-ethoxy-2,4-pentanedione catalyzed by lipase from Candida rugosa ...

Scientific Opinion on Lipase from a Genetically Modified Strain of Aspergillus oryzae (strain NZYM-FL) [PDF]
The food enzyme considered in this opinion is a lipase (triacylglycerol lipase; EC 3.1.1.3) produced with a genetically modified strain of Aspergillus oryzae. The genetic modifications do not raise safety concern.

Partial Purification and Characterization of Lipase (EC 3.1.1.3) from Propionibacterium acnes [PDF]
Lipase from Propionibacterium acnes has been purified 4800-fold from crude culture supernatant. The purified enzyme preparation had no assayable protease, hyaluronate lyase or acid phosphatase activities. The molecular weight of the lipase was 46,770 as determined by gel filtration.

Classification of EC 3.1.1.3 bacterial true lipases using phylogenetic analysis [PDF]
Lipases play an important role in lipid metabolism and are produced by a variety of species. All lipases are members of the α/β hydrolase fold super-family.Also, lipases share a conserved active site signature, the Gly-Xaa-Ser-Xaa-Gly motif. To obtain an overview of this industrially and very important class of enzymes and their characteristics, we ...
