Transcriptional Regulation of the Human Hepatic Lipase Gene: Relation to Glucose and Lipid Metabolism [PDF]
Hepatic Lipase (HL; EC 3.1.1.3) is an extracellular glycoprotein with phospholipase A1 and triacylglycerol hydrolase activity. The human HL protein is encoded by the LIPC gene on chromosome 15q21.

The lipid droplet inhibitor (LDI), templated with large‐pore mesoporous silica and functionalized with PKCα C1A and lipase, targets lipid degradation in fatty liver. The LDI maintains stable association with lipid droplets, thereby suppressing their formation and expansion.

ABSTRACT Background Recurrent otitis externa (OE) episodes commonly affect dogs with canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) despite ongoing cAD treatment. Objective To determine if a therapeutic diet with active ingredients targeting the skin barrier and allergy pathways reduces the incidence rate of OE.

Flavonoids as Potential Modulators of Pancreatic Lipase Catalytic Activity
Background/Objectives: Obesity has reached pandemic proportions, with predictions suggesting that, by 2030, over 1.5 billion people will be affected. Pancreatic lipase (PL), the enzyme primarily responsible for the absorption of dietary lipids, presents ...

Processing-bioprocessing of oilseed rape in bioenergy production and value added utilization of remaining seed components [PDF]
Cruciferous oilseed crops accumulate relatively high concentrations of oil, proteins and dietary fibres (DF) in their seeds, in addition to bioactive components as glucosinolates and myrosinase isoenzymes (thioglucohydrolase; EC 3.2.1.147). When mixed in

Galois theory of fuchsian q-difference equations [PDF]
We propose an analytical approach to the Galois theory of singular regular linear q-difference systems. We use Tannaka duality along with Birkhoff's classification scheme with the connection matrix to define and describe their Galois groups.

Background: Normal hydration of the canine epidermis is imperative for cutaneous homeostasis. Xerosis may be encountered in canine atopic dermatitis and may be aggravated by topical antiseptics. Hypothesis and Objectives: To evaluate the hydrating properties and the safety of a spray (Sensiderm spray; MP Labo) when applied after shampooing healthy dogs
