Steroid Receptors and Other Transcription Factors in Ecdysone Response
1994Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the steroid receptors and other transcription factors in ecdysone response. The early puff at cytogenetic locus 2B is the most interesting of the early puffs in some ways. Because of its location on the X chromosome, it was the first of the early genes to be characterized genetically.

Ecdysone receptor-dependent gene regulation mediates histone poly(ADP-ribosyl)ation
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2004While the ecdysone dependency of puff formation in giant polytene chromosomes from fly salivary glands has been well documented, the molecular mechanisms underlying this process remain unknown. However, it does appear to involve chromatin remodeling and modification mediated by ecdysone receptor (EcR).

Cloning and characterization of an ecdysone receptor cDNA from Locusta migratoria
Molecular and Cellular Endocrinology, 1998To facilitate studies on the hormonal control of development in the migratory locust, Locusta migratoria, we have undertaken the cloning of cDNAs for nuclear hormone receptors. Sequences obtained by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) showed homology with receptor family members including the ecdysteroid receptor (EcR).

Ecdysone receptor controls wing morphogenesis and melanization during rice planthopper metamorphosis
Journal of Insect Physiology, 2012In this study, we cloned full-length EcR cDNAs from the small brown planthopper Laodelphgax striatellus, the brown planthopper Nilaparvata lugens and the white back planthopper Sogatella furciferas. This is the first reporting of EcRs from either L. striatellus or S. furciferas.

Nuclear hormone receptors and the Drosophila ecdysone response.
Biochemical Society symposium, 1997In Drosophila several members of the nuclear hormone receptor super-family are involved in regulating developmental pathways mediated by the steroid hormone ecdysone. At least seven genes encode a set of receptors which are expressed in a complex overlapping temporal and tissue-specific pattern.
