Targeted Ablation of the Abcc6 Gene Results in Ectopic Mineralization of Connective Tissues [PDF]
Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE), characterized by connective tissue mineralization of the skin, eyes, and cardiovascular system, is caused by mutations in the ABCC6 gene. ABCC6 encodes multidrug resistance-associated protein 6 (MRP6), which is expressed primarily in the liver and kidneys.

Role of SoxE transcription factors in development and disease
Abstract Sox8, Sox9, and Sox10 arose by multiple rounds of genome duplications from a single SoxE gene in ancestral vertebrates. In this review, we will briefly discuss the molecular structure and function of SoxE transcription factors and their evolutionary origin. We will then discuss their expression, function, and developmental disorders.

Extracellular ATP Regulates CD73 and ABCC6 Expression in HepG2 Cells
The ATP-binding cassette sub-family C member 6 transporter (ABCC6) is an ATP dependent transporter mainly found in the basolateral plasma membrane of hepatic and kidney cells. Mutations in ABCC6 gene were associated to the Pseudoxanthoma elasticum (PXE),

Navigating the Complexity: A Comprehensive Review of GSK‐3 Inhibition in Regenerative Medicine
ABSTRACT Glycogen synthase kinase‐3 (GSK‐3) is a central regulator of numerous cellular signaling pathways, with critical roles in metabolism, proliferation, differentiation, and tissue regeneration. This review explores the multifaceted effects of pharmacological GSK‐3 inhibition across multiple body districts, focusing on its highly context‐dependent

Why do ectopic pregnancies happen?
An ectopic pregnancy (EP), by definition, is when a blastocyst implants in an area outside of the uterus, and it is estimated to affect 1-2% of all pregnancies.
