Pancreatic ectopic thyroid tissue: A case report and analysis of literature

open access: yesOpen Life Sciences, 2023
Ectopic thyroid is a rare malformation induced by a migration defect in the developing gland during embryogenesis. In 90% of cases, the ectopic thyroid is located in the lingual region, whereas it is extremely rare in the abdominal cavity, particularly ...

Adenocarcinoma of ectopic pancreas [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Ectopic pancreas adenocarcinoma is a very rare form of aberrant pancreas. It is part of differential diagnosis of submucosal tumors. The final diagnosis is based on the histological analysis. Surgery is the standard treatment for those tumours. This case illustrates this pathology.

Ectopic Pancreas Presenting as Periampullary Tumor with Obstructive Jaundice and Pruritus Is a Rare Diagnostic and Therapeutic Dilemma. A Case Report [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Context Ectopic pancreatic rest is an uncommon condition resulting in diverse clinical and pathological presentation. It results from altered development of two primitive pancreatic buds that fuse to form the uncinate-head and body-tail of normal gland ...

Pure hepatocellular carcinoma originates from an ectopic liver nodule located in the pancreas

open access: yes, 2017
Ectopic liver (EL) is a rare congenital abnormality, which is localised most commonly in the wall of the gallbladder. Histoarchitectural abnormalities, which lead to impaired transfer of blood and bile, as well as well demarcation, are characteristic ...

Retroperitoneal ectopic pancreas: imaging findings [PDF]

open access: yesThe British Journal of Radiology, 2009
Ectopic pancreas is relatively uncommon and usually occurs in the stomach or duodenum. Retroperitoneal ectopic pancreas has not previously been documented. We report the case of a 48-year-old man with retroperitoneal ectopic pancreas that imitated bilateral adrenal tumours on ultrasound and MRI.

Acute Small Intestinal Obstruction Caused by Ectopic Pancreas. A Clinical Case Report

open access: yesКреативная хирургия и онкология, 2019
Introduction. An ectopic pancreas is an abnormality in which pancreatic tissue has grown outside its normal location with its own blood supply and ducts while having no anatomical, vascular or innervation connections with the pancreas situated normally ...

Ectopic pancreas mimicking gastric submucosal tumour treated using robotic surgery

open access: yesJournal of Minimal Access Surgery, 2020
Gastric ectopic pancreas presenting as a submucosal tumour accounts for approximately 11% of all endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) examinations. Definitive diagnosis through endoscopy is difficult, even with EUS-guided fine-needle aspiration biopsy for ...

An Adipocyte MKK3–p38β Axis Preserves Insulin Responsiveness in Mice and Is Reciprocally Altered in Human Obesity

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The adipocyte MKK3–p38β axis emerges as an adaptive stress‐response pathway during obesity. Human visceral adipose tissue analyses, adipocyte‐specific mouse models, and primary adipocytes show that the MKK3–p38β axis supports insulin responsiveness by restraining p70S6K‐dependent inhibitory IRS1 feedback and preserving AKT–GLUT4 signaling. This pathway

Transcription Factor HOXC11 Drives Colorectal Cancer Progression and Metastasis via CAMK2A‐Dependent CXCL5 Upregulation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
HOXC11 drives colorectal cancer progression by transcriptionally activating CAMK2A, which triggers NF‐κB–dependent CXCL5 upregulation. CXCL5–CXCR2 signaling further reinforces HOXC11 expression through the ERK1/2–SP1 axis, forming a prometastatic positive feedback loop that is effectively disrupted by combined CAMK2A and CXCR2 inhibition.

Uncoupling Type I Interferon Benefits From Inflammatory Toxicity: Transformer‐Prioritized Precision Agonists for Potent and Safer Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A Transformer‐based AI framework, DLINP, screens millions of compounds to identify Co68, a cobalt‐pincer organometallic complex that biases TLR4‐MD2 signaling toward antitumor interferon activation while suppressing inflammatory toxicity through an early TLR4‐SYK‐STAT1 axis.
