Consequences and Utility of the Zinc-Dependent Metalloprotease Activity of Anthrax Lethal Toxin
Anthrax is caused by the gram-positive bacterium Bacillus anthracis. The pathogenesis of this disease is dependent on the presence of two binary toxins, edema toxin (EdTx) and lethal toxin (LeTx). LeTx, the major virulence factor contributing to anthrax,

Our separate studies have shown that nasal co‐administration of anthrax edema toxin (EdTx) derivative [i.e., protective antigen (PA) plus edema factor (EF) mutant N447S], enhances mucosal IgA and systemic immunity to both PA and co‐administered unrelated protein antigen.

Utilizing a mitochondrial double‐targeted strategy, a novel near‐infrared fluorescent probe (FTZ‐2) is established for monitoring viscosity variations in ferroptosis‐mediated drug‐induced liver injury. In summary, this work provided a practical strategy for the early diagnosis and evaluation of liver injury.

Nonallergic Eyelid Edema After Botulinum Toxin Type A Injection
Periocular botulinum toxin type A (BoNTA) injections are generally safe. Ptosis is the most common adverse effect, whereas eyelid edema is rarely reported. There is no consensus on the latter's incidence, clinical course, or treatment strategy. Here we managed a 59-year-old woman who received BoNTA injections to her forehead, glabella, and eye corner ...

This study designs a novel mRNA‐LNP vaccine targeting VZV glycoprotein E (gE) for herpes zoster via an AI‐assisted pipeline. Validated in mice and rhesus macaques, the mRNA‐LNP vaccine shows strong humoral and cellular immune responses, with CD4+ T‐cell responses more effective and durable than Shingrix, offering a promising prophylactic option ...

This study identifies the transcription factor ETV1 as a key driver of CD4⁺ T cell‐mediated intestinal inflammation in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). ETV1 promotes CD4⁺ T cell activation, proliferation, and Th17 differentiation by activating the amino acid transporter SLC7A5, fueling metabolic reprogramming.

Rigid Hollow Microparticles for Enhanced Focused Ultrasound Treatment Under Optoacoustic Guidance
By combining focused ultrasound (FUS) and acoustically active hollow borosilicate microparticles (HBMPs), we demonstrate tunable control over interparticle dynamics and their localized thermal energy deposition. Modulation of acoustic frequency and particle concentration tailors the energy delivery, allowing adaptive, material‐based regulation of ...

The Polyphenol+PDGF‐BB scaffold fabrication (Panel A) and its dual wound healing effects (Panel B: anti‐inflammation and accelerated tissue remodeling). ABSTRACT Chronic diabetic wounds suffer from dysfunctional repair programs due to accumulated advanced glycation end products (AGEs) and persistent inflammation in hyperglycemic microenvironments ...

Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) progression is driven by TGF‐β induced biochemical signals and mechanical signals from increased ECM stiffness. Pulmonary‐targeted VB‐RT NPs not only eliminate excessive ROS and penetrate the dense ECM collagen barrier via NO release, but also simultaneously interrupt the persistent malignant between mechanical and ...
