Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Using Web-Based, Group Communication Systems to Support Case Study Learning at a Distance

open access: yesInternational Review of Research in Open and Distributed Learning, 2002
This study explored the capacity of Web-based, group communication systems to support case-based teaching and learning. Eleven graduate students studying at a distance were divided into three groups to collaborate on a case study using either a ...

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Recherches et acteurs de l’éducation en France

open access: yesRevue Internationale d’Éducation de Sèvres, 2020
The issue of the links between research and education actors in France often seems paradoxical: on the one hand, the weak consideration of research in action or decision-making has been repeatedly established, while, on the other, forums for ...

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

History of Educational Research [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Like medicine, education is an art. That is why advances in research do not produce a science of education, in the positivist meaning of the term, but yield increasingly powerful scientific foundations for practice and decision making. In this perspective, it can be said thal from 1900 to 1980, educational research bas gathered a surprisingly large ...

Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Légitimation et légitimité des réformes

open access: yesRevue Internationale d’Éducation de Sèvres, 2020
Empirical research is now used to justify certain school reforms. Empirical evaluations check that the implementation of a policy lives up to its promises.
