Characterisation of automotive shredder residue [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The autofluff residue of a Portuguese shredding facility was characterised aiming at identifying the presence of heavy metals in several constituents of these residues, in order to propose possible valorising solutions. Particle size analysis showed that

Aplicação de alguns modelos quimiométricos à espectroscopia de fluorescência de raios-X de energia dispersiva

open access: yesQuímica Nova, 2002
The objective of this work was to accomplish the simultaneous determination of some chemical elements by Energy Dispersive X-ray Fluorescence (EDXRF) Spectroscopy through multivariate calibration in several sample types.

EDXRF with an audio digitizer

open access: yesEDXRF with an audio digitizer
We utilized an audio digitizer in energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) with a silicon drift detector and achieved a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 178 eV at Mn Kα (92-µs peaking time). To confirm the ability of EDXRF with an audio digitizer, we also examined energy versus channel number linearity and output count rate.

Metal Determination by EDXRF in Lichens

Biological Trace Element Research, 1994
Samples of Evernia prunastri, collected in a mountainous zone, were exposed in urban and highly industrialized areas in order to monitor the atmospheric pollution. Amounts of Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Pb were determined by EDXRF spectrometry in secondary target excitation mode and in the thin film approach.
