Polarized-Beam High-Energy EDXRF in Geological Samples
Spectroscopy Letters, 2013ABSTRACT Certified reference materials (NIST 1645, BCR 143, IAEA 7, BCR 141, NIES_CRM_02, and IAEA 375) were used for determining the performance of a secondary target energy-dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) spectrometer, Epsilon 5 (PANalytical, Almelo, the Netherlands).

Metal Determination by EDXRF in Lichens
Biological Trace Element Research, 1994Samples of Evernia prunastri, collected in a mountainous zone, were exposed in urban and highly industrialized areas in order to monitor the atmospheric pollution. Amounts of Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, and Pb were determined by EDXRF spectrometry in secondary target excitation mode and in the thin film approach.

X‐Ray Spectrometry, 1998
Elemental chemical speciation by measuring x-ray energy shifts has been carried out by various authors in the past, using tube excitation and wavelength detection. Among the most intense determined shifts are those of vanadium compounds; further, vanadium speciation determination seems to be even more important than total element analysis. In this work,

X-Ray Spectrometry, 2011
We utilized an audio digitizer in energy‐dispersive X‐ray fluorescence (EDXRF) with a silicon drift detector and achieved a full width at half maximum (FWHM) of 178 eV at Mn Kα (92‐µs peaking time). To confirm the ability of EDXRF with an audio digitizer, we also examined energy versus ...

Figure of merit for spectrometers for EDXRF
X-Ray Spectrometry, 2012How should one select the best detector for a particular measurement in energy dispersive X‐ray fluorescence (EDXRF)? How should one select the optimum system configuration, i.e. the best shaping time and beam current? Manufacturers provide a variety of specifications, such as energy resolution and maximum count rate, but these are indirectly related ...

Application of factor analysis in EDXRF
Fresenius' Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 1997The application of factor analysis in EDXRF as a method for evaluation of elemental concentrations and calculation of net peak areas is demonstrated in two examples. A quantitative PCR-analysis of sulphur interfered with by molybdenum could be performed by using the XRF-spectra as input with a standard error of analysis (SEA) below 0.2 mg/g for aqueous

Direct determination of metallic impurities in graphite by EDXRF
Applied Radiation and Isotopes, 2010Energy dispersive X-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) methods have been developed for the direct determination of 14 trace metallic impurities in graphite powder without any need for sample dissolution. Using synthetic standards, calibration curves were established for different elements after optimizing the spectrometer parameters.

EDXRF and ICP-MS analysis of environmental samples
X-Ray Spectrometry, 1998In an inter-analytical method comparison, energy-dispersive x-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) (radioactive source and x-ray tube based systems), inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GF-AAS) analyses were carried out on seven international biological reference materials and environmental ...
