A PREDICATIVE VARIANT OF HYLAND’S EFFECTIVE TOPOS [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Symbolic Logic, 2020
AbstractHere, we present a category ${\mathbf {pEff}}$ which can be considered a predicative variant of Hyland's Effective Topos ${{\mathbf {Eff} }}$ for the following reasons. First, its construction is carried in Feferman’s predicative theory of non-iterative fixpoints ${{\widehat {ID_1}}}$ .

The Effect of Topo-Climate Variation on the Secondary Metabolism of Berries in White Grapevine Varieties (Vitis vinifera) [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
Exploiting consistent differences in radiation and average air temperature between two experimental vineyards (Ramat Negev, RN and Mitzpe Ramon, MR), we examined the impact of climate variations on total carotenoids, redox status, and phenylpropanoid metabolism in the berries of 10 white wine grapevine (Vitis vinifera) cultivars across three ...

Algebraic set theory and the effective topos [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Symbolic Logic, 2005
AbstractFollowing the book Algebraic Set Theory from André Joyal and Ieke Moerdijk [8], we give a characterization of the initial ZF-algebra, for Heyting pretoposes equipped with a class of small maps. Then, an application is considered (the effective topos) to show how to recover an already known model (McCarty [9]).

A homotopy-theoretic model of function extensionality in the effective topos [PDF]

open access: yesMathematical Structures in Computer Science, 2018
We present a way of constructing a Quillen model structure on a full subcategory of an elementary topos, starting with an interval object with connections and a certain dominance. The advantage of this method is that it does not require the underlying topos to be cocomplete.

Identification of novel neutralizing determinants for protection against HCV

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
Identification of novel neutralizing determinants for protection against hepatitis C virus. Abstract Background and Aims HCV evasion of neutralizing antibodies (nAb) results in viral persistence and poses challenges to the development of an urgently needed vaccine.

TP53 R249S mutation in hepatic organoids captures the predisposing cancer risk

open access: yesHepatology, EarlyView., 2022
The systematic approach in elucidating the gain‐of‐function (GOF) roles of TP53 mutations in early liver carcinogenesis. Unique downstream targets of TP53 L3 mutations were identified from chormatin immunoprecipitation sequencing in HCC cell lines, followed by a series of validation assays to substantiate the exclusive transcriptional regulations ...

A simple presentation of the effective topos

open access: yesCoRR, 2013
We propose for the Effective Topos an alternative construction: a realisability framework composed of two levels of abstraction. This construction simplifies the proof that the Effective Topos is a topos (equipped with natural numbers), which is the main issue that this paper addresses. In this our work can be compared to Frey's monadic tripos-to-topos

URBAN TOPO CLIMATIC FACTORS EFFECTS ON HEATING ISLANDS BASED ON HIGH-RESOLUTION DIGITAL SURFACE MODELS

open access: yesAfrican Journal on Land Policy and Geospatial Sciences, 2021
Urban surface morphology is an important key factor in determining the temporal variation of thermal anisotropy. This study uses drones based high-resolution Digital Surface Models (DSM) to explore the impact of morphological urban variability expressed by terrain factors such as diurnal anisotropy patterns, sky view factor, solar radiation and solar ...

Solution Synthesis of Actinide Chalcogenide and Oxychalcogenide Nanoparticles

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
We report the synthesis of UOS, UOSe, and US2 nanoparticles under colloidal conditions. The magnetic properties were measured of all three materials and compared to prior studies of UO2 nanoparticles. Nanoparticle phases were determined using powder diffraction, and size by transmission electron microscopy.
