Fight against COVID-19: a global efficiency evaluation based on contagion control and medical treatment

open access: yesJournal of Applied Research on Industrial Engineering, 2020
There have been several major global outbreaks during the past decades, with the latest being the worst. The COVID-19 pandemic has infected hundreds of thousands and killed thousands in the world affecting most countries in around the globe.

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

A correction method for the frequency dependence of eddy current loss power of converter transformer

open access: yesDiance yu yibiao
At present, the eddy current loss of the converter transformer is estimated based on an extrapolation method recommended by the IEC-61378-2 standard and GB/T 18494.2 standard. However, practical measurements already show the recommended method has a poor

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Technical Efficiency Evaluation: Naturally Dual! [PDF]

open access: yes
We provide a dual perspective on technical efficiency evaluation, in two respects. First, we build on the price assumptions implicitly associated with the notion of technical efficiency in a general equilibrium framework to characterize a set of ...

EVALUATION OF REGIONAL EFFICIENCY DISPARITIES BY EFFICIENT FRONTIER ANALYSIS

open access: yesEkonomika, 2013
Abstract. The nonparametric methods, such as data envelopment analysis, free disposal hull and order-α frontier analysis, have been applied in this study to evaluate the efficient frontier which extends the application of the production function of regions.

Linking neurogenesis, oligodendrogenesis, and myelination defects to neurodevelopmental disruption in primary mitochondrial disorders

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Mitochondrial remodeling shapes neural and glial lineage progression by matching metabolic supply with demand. Elevated OXPHOS supports differentiation and myelin formation, while myelin compaction lowers mitochondrial dependence, revealing mitochondria as key drivers of developmental energy adaptation.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Errors in Survey Based Quality Evaluation Variables in Efficiency Models of Primary Care Physicians [PDF]

open access: yes
Efficiency analyses in the health care sector are often criticised for not incorporating quality variables. The definition of quality of primary health care has many aspects, and it is inevitably also a question of the patients’ perception of the ...
