Efflux genes and active efflux activity detection in of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

open access: yes, 2008
Efflux-mediated resistance has been recognized as an important contributor of antibiotic resistance in bacteria, especially in methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) isolates.

Mapping the “Supply–Demand–Flow” of Ecosystem Services for Ecosystem Management in China

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study develops a “supply–demand–flow” framework clarifies how ecosystem services move between regions by distinguishing potential and actual supply and demand. Using integrated biophysical–socioeconomic modeling, nine services in China were mapped.

N-acetylaspartate in brain - studies on efflux and function

open access: yes, 2006
N-acetylaspartate (NAA) is an amino acid derivative present in high concentration in the brain. The function of NAA is still unsettled in spite of 50 years of research.

A new technique to measure soil CO2 efflux at constant CO2 concentration

open access: yes, 2004
A new principle for measuring soil CO2 efflux at constant ambient concentration is introduced. The measuring principle relies on the continuous absorption of CO2 within the system to achieve a constant CO2 concentration inside the soil chamber at ambient

Targeting Supramolecular Active Complexes of Nav1.7/Nav1.8 to Relieve Chronic Neuropathic Pain

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In mice and patients with severe chronic neuropathic pain (NP), Nav1.7, Nav1.8, TrkB, and five cytoskeletal proteins form supramolecular active complexes (SMACs) with polygonal lattice structures as noxious signal amplifiers in dorsal root ganglion (DRG) neurons.

Description of Two Resistance-Nodulation-Cell Division Efflux Systems Involved in Acquired Antibiotic Resistance: AxySUV in Achromobacter xylosoxidans and AinCDJ in Achromobacter insuavis

open access: yesAntibiotics
Background/Objectives: Achromobacter xylosoxidans and Achromobacter insuavis are emerging opportunistic pathogens. Several Resistance-Nodulation-cell Division (RND) efflux systems are involved in intrinsic or acquired antibiotic resistance (AxyABM, AxyXY-

A Chirality‐Converted Bacteriolytic Dodecapeptide Regulates Vibrio‐Induced Polymicrobial Infection and Ameliorates Invasion‐Associated Gut Microbiota Disequilibrium

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Multidrug‐resistant Vibrio infections are rising rapidly and threaten coastal populations worldwide. This study introduces D‐zp37, a chirality‐engineered antimicrobial peptide with exceptional potency against resistant Vibrio species. D‐zp37 kills planktonic cells, blocks mixed‐species biofilms, disrupts essential bacterial stress responses, and shows ...

Modulation of the Pseudomonas aeruginosa quorum sensing cascade by MexT-regulated factors

open access: yesmBio
Pseudomonas aeruginosa (Pa) uses quorum sensing (QS), a cell-cell communication system that enables it to sense cell density and alter gene expression.

The Development and Pilot Clinical Study of CD147 Targeted Antagonistic Peptide Probe for Tumor Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study establishes [68Ga]Ga‐DOTA‐AP9 as a first‐in‐human CD147‐targeted PET tracer with favorable safety and specific tumor uptake. Tracer accumulation correlates with CD147 expression in patients, enabling noninvasive quantification of CD147‐positive malignancies.

Selenocompounds as Potent Efflux Pump Inhibitors on Gram-positive Bacteria

open access: yes
In recent years, selenocompounds have gained increasing attention as potential anticancer and antibacterial agents. Several selenoderivatives have been confirmed to act as MDR efflux pump inhibitors, based on their in vitro results against the bacterial ...
