Applications of egg shell and egg shell membrane as adsorbents: A review
Journal of Molecular Liquids, 2016Abstract Worldwide consumption of hen eggs is quite high, which results into availability of large amount of discarded egg wastes, particularly egg shell (ES) and egg shell membrane (ESM). Disposal of ES and ESM is always a problem particularly to the authorities of food, bakery and poultry units.

“Egg Shell” Calcifications In Silicosis
Radiology, 1949CHARACTERISTIC calcium densities of apparently unique morphology occur in chest roentgenograms of men having silicosis. These shadows are seen as more or less regular rings in the hilar or mediastinal regions of the chest. They have been designated as egg-shell, Eierschalen, or mulberry calcifications.

Studies on egg shell strength, shell stiffness, shell quantity, egg size and shape
British Poultry Science, 1968Synopsis Physical properties which included shell stiffness, egg weight, width and length, shell weight and thickness, percentage shell, shell weight per unit area, shape index and roundness were studied in relation to maximum force and energy absorbed at failure in 2733 eggs produced by sixty SCWL pullets.

Studies on egg shells. VI. —The distribution of pores in egg shells
Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, 1955AbstractThe distribution of pores in egg shells has been studied by using a counting technique described in an earlier paper. The distribution is very different from the Poisson form, and different, but less so, form the negative binomial form. A new distribution, based on a modification of the Poisson form, has been developed, and this appears to fit ...

ABSTRACT The shell of the newly-laid egg of Locusta migratoria is composed of a chorion and an outer layer, here termed the extrachorion. The development of the chorion and extrachorion has been followed. The structures of the egg-shells of Schistocerca gregaria, Ramalea microptera, and 6 species of British grasshoppers are also ...
