At the eighth week of human embryonic development, 3D transparent imaging enables clear visualization of the outflow tract's morphological features, revealing its anatomical components in detail. Abstract The ductus arteriosus (DA) is a critical fetal vascular structure that shunts blood from the pulmonary artery to the aorta, bypassing the non ...

Eggshell Membrane Structure and Penetration by Salmonella Typhimurium
Eggshell membrane was removed from 10 broiler hatching eggs at approximately monthly intervals through the productive life of a commercial flock. A piece of membrane (2 by 2 cm) was used to cover an opening in an apparatus designed to test penetration by Salmonella Typhimurium.

The oral microbiota and periodontal health in orthodontic patients
Abstract The oral microbiota develops within the first 2 years of childhood and becomes distinct from the parents by 4 years‐of‐age. The oral microbiota plays an important role in the overall health/symbiosis of the individual. Deviations from the state of symbiosis leads to dysbiosis and an increased risk of pathogenicity.

ABSTRACT The avian eggshell is a sophisticated, multi‐functional biocomposite and, more importantly, an autonomous life‐support system evolved to safeguard embryonic development across dynamic and hostile environments. Discussing eggshell‐inspired biomaterials beyond simple structural imitation, this review translates these evolutionary survival ...

Chemical composition of chicken eggshell and shell membranes
This study was undertaken to determine the occurrence of uronic acid in chicken eggshell membranes and to compare chemical compositions among the inner and outer eggshell membranes and the organic matter of eggshell. We report here for the first time the occurrence of uronic acid in chicken eggshell membranes. Uronic acid concentrations were similar (P

Half a Century of Per‐ and Polyfluoroalkyl Substances in Northern Gannet Eggs: Impact of Regulations
ABSTRACT Per‐ and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), known as “forever chemicals”, are persistent organic pollutants that have been widely used in the industry across the globe for many decades. Their chemical stability, bioaccumulation, and toxicity pose major environmental and health risks. This study examines temporal trends in the concentrations of
