Microwave synthesis of wollastonite powder from eggshells

Journal of the European Ceramic Society, 2011
Abstract Wollastonite powder was synthesized by microwave assisted solid-state reaction in a 2.45 GHz microwave furnace with a maximum power output of 2.4 kW. Bio-solid waste eggshell and SiO 2 were used as starting materials for the synthesis. α-Wollastonite formation started at 800 °C. The single phase was obtained after 10 min heating at 1100 °C.

SPECTROSCOPIC ANALYSIS OF DOMESTIC AND IMPORTED EGGSHELLS POWDER

Full Text Book of Minar Congress 6, 2022
The research aims to study the spectra analysis of the elements present in local and imported eggshells. The study process is carried out using X-ray fluorescent (XRF) and spectral analysis of atomic emission for plasma by interaction of laser with eggshells the laser – induced breakdown spectroscopy(LIBS) method is used for this purpose.

Optimization of Cement Concrete using Eggshell Powder

Asian Journal of Research in Social Sciences and Humanities, 2016
Cement plays a vital role in this modern world. In fact high energy consumption is required to manufacture and transport the cement and causes air pollution including the release of greenhouse gases (Eg: carbon dioxide, SO2 and particulates.). To reduce the above effect considerably and to utilize the egg shell - derived as waste from industries, egg ...

Nanosized Hydroxyapatite Powder Synthesized from Eggshell and Phosphoric Acid

Journal of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, 2007
The present research describes synthesis of highly sinterable, nano-sized hydroxyapatite (HAp) powders using a wet chemical route with recycled eggshell and phosphoric acid as calcium and phosphorous sources. The raw eggshell was easily turned to CaO by the calcining process, and phosphoric acid was mixed with the calcined eggshell by the wet, ball ...

Characterization of Precipitated Calcium Carbonate from Eggshell Powder

Advanced Materials Research, 2011
In this work, PCC was prepared from chicken eggshell powder (ESP) by dissolving 100 g ESP in 1 M hydrochloric acid at room temperature. Under vigorous stirring, PCC was precipitated from the ESP-dissolved solution using 1 M sodium carbonate solution. The dried PESP (precipitated eggshell powder) was then characterized by particle size analyzer, X-ray ...

Kinetic investigation of eggshell powders as biobased epoxy catalyzer

Composites Part B: Engineering, 2020
Abstract Epoxy resins from bisphenol A of diglycidyl ether/anhydride methyl tetrahydrophthalic/2,4,6-tris dimethylaminomethyl phenol were prepared by mechanical mixing using a magnetic stirrer. Substitution of synthetic catalyzer by eggshell powders provided high performance biobased materials.

Novel Chemical Conversion of Eggshell to Hydroxyapatite Powder

2008
Hydroxyapatite (HA) which compose around 70 % of our bone is an example of bioactive ceramics most commonly used in bone implantation. Because of their excellent bioactivities, hydroxyapatites are regarded as attractive biomedical materials. In this work we have succeeded in producing hydroxyapatite powder by using eggshell waste as the raw material ...

Thermoluminescence properties of CaO powder obtained from chicken eggshells

Radiation Physics and Chemistry, 2017
Abstract Eggshell wastage has created serious problem in disposal of the food processing industry which has been triggered the thoughts of researchers to use wasted eggshells as good source of calcium. In the present work, calcium oxide (CaO) has been synthesized by combustion process in furnace (F–CaO) and microwave oven (M–CaO) using the source of ...
