Fibrinolytic and anticoagulative activities from the earthworm Eisenia foetida
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, 1998Biologically active glycolipoprotein complex (G-90) isolated from whole earthworm tissue extract shows anticoagulative and fibrinolytic activities. We isolated two tyrosine like serine peptidases with molecular masses of 34 kDa (P I) and 23 kDa (P II), respectively. P I peptidase is autocatalytically degraded to P II.

Comparative biochemistry and physiology. Toxicology & pharmacology : CBP
The chiral fungicide prothioconazole (PTZ) is extensively employed in agricultural practices, prompting serious concern due to its environmental impact. PTZ is prone to undergo metabolism, leading to the formation of chiral prothioconazole-desthio (dPTZ)

Cellular expression of the cytolytic factor in earthworms Eisenia foetida
Immunology Letters, 1998Coelomic fluid of earthworms contains a 42 kDa protein designated CCF-1 (coelomic cytolytic factor 1), which accounts for approximately 40% of cytolytic activity of the entire coelomic fluid. CCF-1 was documented to be present on cells of the mesenchymal lining of the coelomic cavity as well as on free coelomocytes.

Autofluorescence as a tool to study mucus secretion in Eisenia foetida
Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part A: Molecular & Integrative Physiology, 2008Autofluorescence in living cells is due to the presence of endogenous substances that emit fluorescence upon excitation by incidental light. A type of fluorescence, bioluminescence, has been suggested to be linked to mucus secretion in earthworms; however, the origin and the physiological function of this fluorescence are not clear.

The Role of the Earthworm, Eisenia foetida, in the Transmission of Stephanurus dentatus
The Journal of Parasitology, 1955unbroken skin. Following entry into the body of the pig, the majority of the larvae reaches the liver where they undergo a long period of development. This culminates in escape of the worms into the peritoneal cavity and their migration to the perirenal area.

Adhesins of Immunoglobulin-like Superfamily from Earthworm Eisenia foetida
General Pharmacology: The Vascular System, 19981. From the biologically active extract (G-90) isolated from the tissue homogenate of Eisenia foetida immunoglobulin-like structures were isolated and named G-90/4. 2. G-90/4 in nanogram concentrations stimulated cell proliferation more than did the original G-90. It lyses cells in microgram concentrations. 3.

Bioaccumulation of hexachlorobenzene in Eisenia foetida at different aging stages
Journal of Environmental Sciences, 2009The impacts of contact time on the extractability, the availability of hexachlorobenzene (HCB) in different soils (paddy soil, red soil, and fluvo-aquic soil) and bioaccumulation in earthworm Eisenia foetida were investigated under controlled conditions in laboratory.
