Aircraft-Electric-Accessory-Vibration Investigations
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1944Flight and laboratory tests are in progress to determine changes in design of aircraft generators which will improve their resistance to vibration-fatigue failure. Vibrations near mountings of generator voltage regulators and reverse-current relays are being measured to provide data for design and testingof these accessories.

Airline Aircraft Electric-Equipment Maintenance
Transactions of the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, 1944“ANNOUNCING the departure of trip 23, Nashville-Memphis-Phoenix-Los Angeles, leaving at gate 6, all aboard, please.” In a matter of minutes after this announcement an airliner departs on schedule to carry some 5,000 pounds of passengers and cargo over rivers, mountains, and cities and to deposit them safely at the destination.

Electric gun turrets for aircraft
Electrical Engineering, 1944THIS war has seen an unprecedented development of armament, both offensive and defensive, for military aircraft. One of the most widely used and, therefore, perhaps one of the most important of these has been the power-driven gun turret, three or four of which are used on all our heavy bombers, and one or more on most smaller bombers and equivalent ...

Requirements for aircraft electric motors
Electrical Engineering, 1944DESIGN requirements for electric motors intended for use on aircraft maybe classified roughly into performance and construction. These two classifications are not completely independent of one another, as some of the construction requirements will have pronounced effect on the performance characteristics, Performance characteristics may be subdivided ...

Aircraft electric power-supply system
Electrical Engineering, 1943An ever increasing demand for electric power in aircraft has been felt for some time. The necessity of using an electric storage battery started the practice of accompanying it with a d-c generator, first of low current and voltage capacity, later of 50-ampere 12-volt rating, and for the past few years of 200-ampere 24-volt output.

Advanced Aircraft Electric System
IEEE Transactions on Aerospace and Electronic Systems, 1984The topics, advanced aircraft electric system and all-electric airplane, inspire a broad range of concepts from the evolutionary to the revolutionary. The revolutionary developments are exciting to the research and development community but find little encouragement or acceptance from airframe developers whose objective is to build an advanced ...
