Production of MgO/TiC Composites From MgO‐C Recyclates Using Spark Plasma Sintering
Using the spark plasma sintering technique, MgO/TiC composites are manufactured from recycled MgO‐C refractories stemming from the steel production that were mixed with titanium powder. This article shows, how the size of the Ti grains and their distribution in the powder mixture affect the local carbon concentration in TiC.

Effect of sugar beet (Beta vulgaris) and canola (Brassica napus) residue on weeds, yield and yield components of chickpea (Cicer arietinum) [PDF]
Introduction Weeds have significant negative effects on agricultural ecosystems. They are responsible for the decline of crop yield because of competition with crops for water, nutrients and sunlight. Existing weed control methods are either expensive or

Airborne observations of electric fields around growing and decaying cumulus clouds [PDF]
Airborne electric field data were gathered in an atmospheric electrification study near Cape Canaveral, FL. A Learjet 36A was instrumented with eight electric field meters (mills) and five different particle probes.

Extracting physical observables using macroscopic ensemble in the spex-mixer/mill simulation
A technique to simulate the spex-mixer/mill system as a macroscopic ensemble rather than a pure dynamical system is proposed. The treatment is suitable especially for comminution processes generating the nanomaterial up to nanometers scale where the ...

Cathodic Cage Plasma Deposition of Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se Coatings on Poly(methyl Methacrylate)
Nanostructured Cu–Fe–Se coatings are deposited on PMMA by a modified cathodic cage plasma process, enabling low‐temperature deposition on polymer substrates. A transition from discontinuous to compact morphology is observed with temperature, with optimal properties at 200°C, where improved CuFeSe2‐type bonding, lowest sheet resistance, and favorable ...
